The 18-year-old Filipina phenomenon shared about meeting Celine Dion, “We did perform together about two years ago at Madison Square Garden. I was shaking, she’s one of my heroes and she told me to not to forget to look back and treasure my mom; be humble always. She was very sweet.”

Charice eagerly waves to her awaiting fans as she arrives at a meet-and-greet at the Indigo Eaton Centre Bookstore in Toronto on Saturday afternoon (June 5).
The 18-year-old powerhouse Filipina recently sat down with MTV about her cover of Justin Bieber‘s “Baby.”
Charice shared, “I just did that this morning [May 12], and it was because I love ‘Baby,’ it’s really a catchy song. I actually love covering some songs, but I think that’s the best song I sang so far, ’cause that’s my favorite song from Justin Bieber. I’m a fan. I love the story of his life. I love his attitude. I met him and he was really, really nice. I got the Bieber fever.

Charice introduces her keyboard player as she performs an acoustic version of her new single, “Pyramid” at Radio Disney on Wednesday afternoon (June 2).
The 18-year-old singer opened up to Ernie D on just how she first got started singing.
Charice shared, “My mom was a vocalist in a band with my aunt. They were practicing almost every day and I almost learned all the songs that they were singing. One day, she left me home and I learned how to operate the karaoke [machine]. I sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and my mom saw me. From then on, she taught me really how to sing. She was actually my vocal coach for a long time.”

Sorry fans, despite what you may have heard through the internet rumor mills, Charice will not be on Glee as a series regular.
The 18-year-old Filipina powerhouse posted on her Twitter, “I just want to let you all know, that it’s not true that I’m going to be on Glee… How i wish! haha”
The news was first reported by Philippine Daily Inquirer, who apparently got a confirmation from Charice‘s Phillipines manager about the role.
But — NOT TRUE!

On what gives her the motivation to keep on going: “It’s the negative comments I hear about myself that push me to keep on going. It’s like, if the haters annoy me, I’d annoy them even more by doing better! (laughs) But seriously, I want to prove that I can do it rather than tearing other people down, it should be really be more of giving support.”
On what sets her apart: “I don’t think anything really sets me apart from everyone else. We all work hard and want to be successful. We all do our best. We all feel the pressure to perform well.”
On meeting Justin Timberlake: “It’s still a surprise to me when I see them around and I get introduced to them-and an even a bigger surprise when they say they love how I sing. Like when I met Justin Timberlake — they invited me to sing for him during an awards ceremony in his honor. After I sang, he came over and congratulated me! I also dream of meeting Beyonce one day. I’d love to follow in her footsteps when it comes to my career. Those are my two dream duets, with Justin and Beyonce!”
Charice‘s self-titled debut album will drop on May 11th — the same day she’ll be on Oprah with Justin Bieber!
