Austin Butler and Chloe Bridges take over the entertainment covers of the latest issue of Bello magazine.
The two Carrie Diaries stars opened up about their characters, fashion, and Sex and the City. Check it:
Chloe on Donna LaDonna: “Donna is hot stuff. I mean, she wakes up every morning and teases that hair and puts on her pink eye shadow. So, y’know, she’s an interesting character to play for sure.”
Austin on research for his role: “I look at it knowing that everything we’re doing now is shaping who she eventually becomes, the person we see in Sex and the City. And also the comedy… I love Sex and The City for their comedic timing, and comedy in general. I, as an actor, don’t ever want to fall into being melodramatic, and I feel like it’s a very easy thing to fall into. Because you kind of sit into the emotion rather than going through it and making light of it, which is something we do on the show. We try not to let it get too serious.”
Chloe on the fashion: “I think that we are starting at a place in the show where there’s so much room to grow [in fashion]. All of the influences involved are very much SATC or Gossip Girl. So, yes, those are our influences and we will go in that direction, but we’re starting in a place where Carrie’s a virgin; she’ s not having sex yet and she’s living in Connecticut. So we’ll see her make her way into that life. We’ll be with her to discover it; we won’t meet her when she’s already a part of it. I’d have to say the same with the other characters. We’re all coming into our own.”
Austin on watching Sex and the City: “I hadn’t watched it before I did the pilot. But I was in New York and I said to myself, ‘I should really [watch] this show.’…Now, I’m on season three or four? I thought I’d watch maybe one episode for research. But it’s such a good show. You relate to it even though these are 30-something year old single women living in New York. But I think it’s the idea that they’re looking for love constantly, and in the weirdest places and it’s not quite lining up, and so one relates to that.”

AnnaSophia Robb and Austin Butler share a look as they walk through the school hallways in this new still from The Carrie Diaries.
In “Lie To Me,” New couple Carrie (Robb) and Sebastian (Butler) can’t seem to catch a break — between being grounded and rival Donna’s (Chloe Bridges) sneaky attempts to break them apart, Carrie worries Sebastian will lose interest in her. Desperate for some alone time with him, Carrie must lie to her father (Matt Letscher) and bail on plans with her sister Doritt (Stefania Owen).
Meanwhile, Maggie’s (Katie Findlay) obsession with having sex drives a wedge between her and Walt (Brendan Dooling) and Larissa (Freema Agyman) wants to do a photo shoot with Carrie’s purse for Interview magazine forcing Carrie to scramble to make it work.
“Lie To Me” premieres Monday, January 21st @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW. More Here! »
AnnaSophia Robb flirts with Austin Butler in this first look still from The Carrie Diaries pilot.
The show’s official summary: It’s 1984, and life isn’t easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw (Robb). Since their mother passed away, Carrie’s younger sister Dorritt (Stefania Owen) is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom (Matt Letscher) is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own. Carrie’s friends – sweet, geeky Mouse, snarky Maggie (Katie Findlay) and sensitive Walt (Brendan Dooling) – make life bearable, but a suburban life in Connecticut isn’t doing much to take her mind off her troubles.
Even the arrival of a sexy new transfer student named Sebastian (Butler) only reminds Carrie that she spent the whole summer grieving rather than moving on with life. So when Tom offers Carrie the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan, she leaps at the chance.
Carrie’s eyes are opened wide at the glamour and grit of New York City – and when she meets Larissa (Freema Agyeman), the style editor for Interview magazine, she’s inspired by the club culture and unique individuals that make up Larissa’s world. Carrie’s friends and family may have a big place in her heart, but she’s fallen in love for the first time with the most important man in her life – Manhattan.
The show is set to premiere in January 2013. More Here! »
Check out your first look at Chloe Bridges in The Carrie Diaries!
The 20-year-old actress plays Donna LaDonna in the upcoming CW show, opposite AnnaSophia Robb, Stefania Owen and Austin Butler.
Donna is Carrie’s (Robb) high school frenemy — popular and confident, and boasts a bit more than meets the eye.
“I’ve lived in Williamsburg for 3 days, & I have yet to see a poorly-dressed or style-less person in my neighborhood. I could get behind this,” Chloe recently tweeted about her new living spaces in New York.
