Melissa Benoist rocks a brand-new haircut at 2019 Comic-Con!
The Supergirl actress took the stage at the Supergirl Special Video Presentation and Q&A at San Diego Convention Center on Saturday (July 20) in San Diego.
She was joined by her co-stars Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Mehcad Brooks, Azie Tesfai, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Andrea Brooks, and Jon Cryer.
The cast shared an adorable group hug around Mehcad, who will be leaving the CW series in season five.
At the event, Melissa revealed the official first look at Supergirl’s new Kryptonian supersuit. See it in our gallery!
In addition, the show’s producers announced that two new characters will be joining the action in National City for the upcoming season: DC’s Andrea Rojas (aka Acrata), played by Veronica Mars‘ Julie Gonzalo, and renowned reporter William Dey, played by Game of Thrones‘ Staz Nair.
Season five of Supergirl premieres on October 6.

Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, and Melissa Benoist speak on stage at 2018 Comic-Con!
The Supergirl co-stars addressed the crowd at the Supergirl Special Video Presentation and Q&A at the event held at San Diego Convention Center on Saturday (July 21) in San Diego, Calif.
They were joined by their other co-stars Katie McGrath, David Harewood, and Jesse Rath.
At the event, it was announced that Supergirl will be adding three new cast members – April Parker Jones as series regular Colonel Haley, David Ajala in the recurring role of Manchester Black, and transgender activist and actress Nicole Maines, marking the first transgender superhero on TV. She made a surprise appearance during the panel!
Nicole will play Nia Nal, aka Dreamer, “the newest addition to the CatCo reporting team. A soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others, Nia’s journey this season means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero Dreamer (much like Kara came into her own as Supergirl),” Deadline reports.
Season four of Supergirl will premiere on October 14 on The CW!

Melissa Benoist and BF Chris Wood are loving filming their scenes!
The Supergirl stars were seen filming a finale scene for Season 3 on Wednesday (May 2) in Vancouver, Canada.

Melissa and Chris, who are also an IRL couple, were spotted filming a finale scene for the third season of the hit show alongside their superhero gang including Erica Durance, Amy Jackson and Chyler Leigh.
At one point, Chris checked out Melissa, and when she caught him looking at her, they both shared a laugh!
Caity Lotz and Chyler Leigh reunite at the 2018 ClexaCon held in Las Vegas over the weekend.
The two Arrowverse stars – on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl – met up at the annual convention to meet fans and chat about what’s coming on both of their respective shows.

If you didn’t hear, Caity will be returning as Sara Lance on Arrow‘s forthcoming season 6 finale. While there are no details just yet, we’re excited for her to return!

The two Supergirl stars were seen waiting outside a church before Caity Lotz, who plays Sara Lance on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, joins them.

Not that we want Alex Danvers and her fiance, Maggie, to split, but could the big news involve Sara in any way?
Floriana Lima, who plays Maggie, is going down to a recurring star, too.
There was that one scene where Sara asked out Kara, and she told her to ask her sister instead in the first crossover event — even though we never saw it.
Hmmm, we’ll have to wait and see!

The 28-year-old actor opened up about taking on the role of Superman on the show.
“Definitely incredibly surreal. I know the character represents so much to so many people,” Tyler said.
“Because big things are happening. Big things have to happen when Superman and Supergirl get together,” executive producer Sarah Schechter adds about the feel of season two.

Tyler Hoechlin joins the Supergirl cast to chat up the new season of the show at SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio Channel at Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday (July 23) in San Diego, Calif.
The 28-year-old actor joined Melissa Beniost, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan, Mehcad Brooks, and Chyler Leigh just ahead of an autograph signing at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.
“We’re going to have a bit more runway,” Chyler shared with TVLine about switching from CBS to the CW in the fall.
She added, “Since were catering to that younger crowd, we have a bit more room to bring some crazy, crazy in.”
