Cory Monteith's Mom Ann McGregor Discusses Tragic Death of Her Son in New Interview (Video)

Cory Monteith‘s mother Ann McGregor is speaking for the first time in an interview since the death of her beloved son one year ago.

“The loss is horrendous … until three days ago I couldn’t look at a picture of Cory,” Ann, 63, said. “So there’s been progress.”

Ann also said she is in touch with Lea Michele via text and email. “She’s hurting too … you see the sadness,” Ann said. “I know her pain.”

“[When] Cory was 15, he did a code blue,” Ann said explaining his first overdose, “and I think that was the turning point. He had a lot of emotional things he was trying to figure out — lot of it was he really wanted a relationship with his father. I think when a child gets invalidated they keep reaching even harder. They want to find out why.”

Cory‘s mom also explained that he was getting ready to sign a lease in Vancouver before he died and he may have been thinking about leaving Hollywood. “I think he was easing himself out of it.”
