Daisy Ridley can’t help but smile while arriving at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 43rd Student Academy Awards held at Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Thursday (September 22) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The 24-year-old The Force Awakens actress joined Elementary actress Lucy Liu and Joel Edgerton at the event after getting her nails done earlier in the day.
The Student Academy Awards were established to provide a platform for emerging global talent by creating opportunities within the industry to showcase their work.

“I heard a title, and I’m not sure if it’s going to be that. I really don’t know much about anything,” she explained.
Daisy added, “I have heard it, but I heard it a long time ago before we started filming. So I feel like some things have tweaked slightly during [production], but it’s going to be a while before it’s released, I’d imagine.”
Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on December 15, 2017.

The 24-year-old Star Wars: The Force Awakens actress sings the Broadway song “At the Ballet” from A Chorus Line alongside Barbra and Anne Hathaway on the legend’s new Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway album.
The song can now be streamed on Spotify and it is available for download on iTunes!
The duo will take the lead in the film which is based on the Lisa Klein‘s novel that re-imagines Shakespeare‘s classic play “Hamlet” through the eyes of Ophelia.
“Set in the 14th century but spoken in a contemporary voice, Ophelia will put the titular character center stage,” producer Daniel Bobker explained.
Daisy has several other upcoming film projects that were just announced, including The Lost Wife and J.J. Abrams‘ Kolma.
The 24-year-old actress rang in her birthday a day early at the show with the 49-year-old director, and took home two awards for the movie.
“Bringing in my 24th year with JJ @mtv Movie Awards!” Daisy wrote on Instagram. “Thank you so much to everyone that voted for Breakthrough and Movie!!!!”
