The 28-year-old actress is singing “This Time,” an original song written by her co-star Darren Criss.

“Hearing Lea sing this song was a really cathartic moment for me. It was a perfect way to say goodbye to the whole experience, and I really look forward to getting to share it with the world. I hope ‘This Time’ will resonate with as many people watching Glee as it did for me and those of us who had a hand in making it,” Darren told Entertainment Weekly.

Darren Criss Becomes First Castmember To Write Songs For 'Glee'

Darren Criss Becomes First Castmember To Write Songs For 'Glee'

Darren Criss doesn’t just star in Glee anymore, he’s one of the songwriters!

The 28-year-old actor has become the first castmember to write tracks for the series, THR reports.

Darren joined friends Theo Katzman, Sam Hollander, Andrew Thielk, Eddie Montilla and Korey Richmond for “Rise” which was specifically written with the goal of having it featured on Glee — just when was the question.

When Darren read the upcoming episode “The Rise & Fall of Sue Sylvester”, he realized that the song fit. The track will debut on the March 6th episode.

His other song, “This Time” will be performed by Lea Michele in the series finale.

Darren Criss Will Star in '17 Again' Musical Reading!

Darren Criss Will Star in '17 Again' Musical Reading!

We’ve gotten some super cool (and also sad) news about Darren Criss – he’s going to star in a musical reading of 17 Again in the role originated by Zac Efron.

While it’s super cool that Darren will be taking on the role, it’s sad because the March 6 reading is not open to the public. It is being put on by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures in hopes of creating new works for first class productions, professional and regional tours, and amateur licensing.

Even though Darren is starring in the reading, this does not mean he will definitely star in the show if it hits Broadway, though this does sometimes happen!

17 Again is about a guy whose life didn’t quite turn out how he wanted it to and wishes he could go back to high school and change it. He wakes up one day and is seventeen again and gets the chance to rewrite his life.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Darren Criss starring in a 17 Again musical?
