Demi Lovato gets the party going at the Y100 Pool Party held at Fontainebleau Hotel on Thursday afternoon (July 2) in Miami, Fla.
“Ready for the #CoolForTheSummer Pool Party round 2 tomorrow at @Fontainebleau!!!” the 22-year-old singer tweeted the night before as she headed south from New York City where she dropped her new single, “Cool For The Summer”.
Speaking with AMP Radio recently, Demi dished on her new sound: “It is definitely a more grown-up song for me… it’s definitely sexier, more mature. It’s a summer anthem song. This chapter of my life is definitely meaningful… I feel like I’m embarking on a new journey and this song definitely is a celebration for sure.”
Demi Lovato belts it out while wearing a revealing bikini top at Z100′s pool party held at Gansevoort Park Avenue on Wednesday afternoon (July 1) in New York City.
The 22-year-old singer performed her hot new single, “Cool For The Summer” at the party where she celebrated the start of the summer with blow up flamingos, floats and fans.
Earlier in the day, Demi was not pleased that people think she ripped off Katy Perry‘s “I Kissed a Girl” and Jessie J‘s “Domino” with her new tune “Cool for the Summer.”
“Sounds nothing like it and with all the advances we’ve made in the LGBT community…I think more than one female artist can kiss a girl and like it….. ????” Demi, 22, wrote on her Twitter when fans collectively began talking about the similarities.
Demi Lovatojust dropped her new track, “Cool For The Summer”, today and is opening up about the change in her music.
“It’s like I’ve spent so long just kind of people-pleasing, making everybody happy with being the best role model I can be,” the 22-year-old singer shared with On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
Demi added, “At the end of the day, yes, I am outspoken about the things I believe in: Mental health advocacy work. I have a charity. I have these things that make me a role model. But, at the same time, none of these things are really representing the badass that I am.”
She continued, “There’s a side of [me] that people don’t get to see with my past music, but it’s been there. That’s what this album is: I’m no longer serious. I’m done with like the sob stories and the tales. New chapter, new life, new album, new single. This is a completely new Demi.”
