Fifth Harmony Dish On Message Behind Their Upcoming Album

Fifth Harmony Dish On Message Behind Their Upcoming Album

Fifth Harmony are opening up even more about their upcoming album, and the message behind the records.

The singers — Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Normani Kordei — sat down with MTV News to dish about their new music and the stories behind it.

“The story we’re excited to tell is us being in a vulnerable light and being exposed in a way,” Ally shared in the interview. “There’s one record [on the album], without spilling any big details, that’s about uniting and showing love to the world more.”

She added that it was kind of hard not to spill more details about the group’s record, which will be out later this year.

Dinah adds, “I think what you’re about to witness is our growth and our relationships between one another. That’s the core of it all.”

“As women and human beings, you know when it gets rough and it’s just easy to look at someone and know you’re all going through the same thing and that you’re able to uplift them and know that I’m right here with you and I’m going to stay right by your side.”

Fifth Harmony Reveal The Meaning Behind Their New Single ‘Down’

Fifth Harmony Reveal The Meaning Behind Their New Single ‘Down’

We don’t know about you, but JJJ has had Fifth Harmony‘s brand new single “Down” on repeat since it dropped.

The girls — Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Normani Kordei — also debuted a super hot and steamy video to go along with the debut.

While we all can see what the song is about, we love it when the artists share the story behind the song.

And that’s just what Dinah did.

“We just found this to use as an intro into our album and to what’s to come,” she shared. “We’re featuring Gucci Mane, which is really special for us because we’re such huge fans. It’s special that someone like him is not only on the song, but also is being very intimate on the song.”

Dinah added, “From a rapper, you never really get that – you never hear him sing that he’s down for his woman, that he loves her, that he’ll go out of his way to prove that ‘I’m down for you.’ So this record is super special to us.”

Fifth Harmony Co-Wrote More Than Half of Their New Album & We Can't Wait to Hear it

Fifth Harmony Co-Wrote More Than Half of Their New Album & We Can't Wait to Hear it

In a new video interview, Fifth Harmony opens up about their upcoming third album (their first without former band member Camila Cabello) and it sounds amazing.

“We’re really experimenting with a lot of different sounds,” Ally Brooke tells Billboard, explaining that it will feature everything from pop to “dark urban sounds” to R&B. “It’s pretty versatile.”

We’re already obsessed with their new single, “Down,” (listen here) so we definitely believe them.

Normani Kordei agreed, adding that they co-wrote “more than half” of the new album. “It means more,” she said.

We cannot wait. Working towards writing their own songs is a huge step for these women, and the new album will definitely reflect more of their personalities and thoughts than their previous two as a result.

Also, we KNOW it’s good because Ally said that they listen to their own music “on repeat!”

“That never really happened before,” she said.

It definitely happened before for us, but we cannot wait to see what the women have in store for us!

Fifth Harmony is Loving the Normani Kordei-Inspired 'Down' Challenge

Fifth Harmony is Loving the Normani Kordei-Inspired 'Down' Challenge

When Fifth Harmony performed on Good Morning America last week (watch here), very few people noticed that member Normani Kordei actually slipped on-stage.

The reason the slip was so subtle is because Mani smoothly transitioned it into a body roll and fell back in line with the others’ choreography within seconds.

Of course, once one person noticed, everyone did — and fans are floored by the 21-year-old singer’s epic recovery. Fans are showering her with praise and even Normani is laughing about it.

Now many Harmonizers have started the “Down” challenge in her honor, setting spills and falls to the new 5H song (listen here) to make them look better. Normani and Dinah Jane are obsessed with the challenge, and have been liking and retweeting a ton of videos.
