Lindsay Arnold Opens Up About Len Goodman's Cuban Heel Criticism & Challenges With Jordan Fisher on DWTS (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Opens Up About Len Goodman's Cuban Heel Criticism & Challenges With Jordan Fisher on DWTS (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold is still going strong after not just one, but two dances this week with partner Jordan Fisher on Dancing With The Stars.

Speaking with JJJ for her exclusive weekly blog throughout the season, the pro opened up about taking on the two dances with a few things in their way, and just what she thought about judge Len Goodman‘s Cuban heel comment.

“Going into this week, knowing that there were two nights of dancing and two nights of elimination, it was pretty daunting,” Lindsay shares. “We had an insane week too.”

“They didn’t show anything that went on during our week in our video package. Immediately after the premiere, we hopped on a red eye and flew straight to New York, we missed a day of rehearsing there, we only had one day there to rehearse. Then, flew back to LA, had a couple hours of rehearsal then and then Jordan spent all of Friday filming his music video for “Mess” (which is going to be incredible), but it definitely took a lot of time away from us rehearsing.”

But that wasn’t the biggest hurdle for them. This was: “On top of all that though, we both came down with a cold!”

Lindsay adds, “We were sick the entire week and we were not healthy at all. I was still so proud of him because he pushed through all of the challenges he faced that week. He was such a busy guy and handled two dances like a champ. I was so proud of how well both of our performances went.”

“I think…we made it a goal for ourselves that we would always try to meet or exceed our standard that we set on week one and we did that both nights. We got straight 8′s both nights and we were stoked about that. That’s two points higher than our premiere score and we were very happy.”

However, she did have something to say about Len‘s comment about Jordan wearing the Cuban heels for their samba — something another celeb hasn’t done before.

DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Can't Thank His Fans Enough For Their Support (Exclusive)

DWTS Pro Alan Bersten Can't Thank His Fans Enough For Their Support (Exclusive)

Alan Bersten chatted with JustJared.com is over the moon about his first performance — and even more about his fans!

The Dancing With the Stars pro opened up to JJJ about all the support coming his way and he could not be more grateful.

“It’s the best feeling of all, first to know that you’re a part of this amazing family that is DWTS, then to have all the support from the fans — it’s surreal,” he says.

Alan adds, “It builds a lot of pressure, actually, because I don’t want to let anyone down. I don’t want to let the fans down by choreographing a bad routine or anything. But it’s nice to have the support and the confidence from all of them too.”

He also told us that he has a ton of support from all the other dancers on the show as well.

“They are just extremely helpful,” Alan says. “If I ever need anything, they would gladly help me. We’re one big family and that feels great.”

Lindsay Arnold Feels Pressure For 'DWTS' Week 2 Because of Lack of Rehearsal Time with Jordan Fisher (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Feels Pressure For 'DWTS' Week 2 Because of Lack of Rehearsal Time with Jordan Fisher (Exclusive)

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold stop by BUILD Series in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (September 20).

The Dancing With The Stars team are all over the country this week — they’ve been in New York City for the past few days, and will be back in Los Angeles tomorrow — and that’s putting a lot of pressure on their rehearsals.

“I’m already feeling the pressure for week two,” Lindsay confessed to JJJ. “Last night alone, tying for first at the top of the leaderboard with Lindsey and Mark, that puts the pressure on us. It makes us want to make sure that we don’t lose that position.”

She continues, “That means we have to put a lot of work in and this upcoming week, we have two dances, and there’s a double elimination.”

Not only that, but it’s an insanely busy week!

“On Friday, Jordan‘s filming a music video when we get back to LA,” Lindsay says. “So, it’s a pretty crazy week for us, but…he knows what it takes, I know what it takes and we’re going to do our best and do everything we can.”

We have 100% faith in Team Fish Upon a Star!

Lindsay Arnold Dishes On DWTS25 Premiere With Jordan Fisher: 'The Tango Wasn't Easy For Us' (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Dishes On DWTS25 Premiere With Jordan Fisher: 'The Tango Wasn't Easy For Us' (Exclusive)

If you’re wondering, Lindsay Arnold is still alive and well after last night’s magical performance with partner Jordan Fisher on Dancing With The Stars.

“It was so much fun. He did such a good job,” the pro dancer told us in an exclusive interview today.

But while it was fun and amazing and everything she could’ve possibly dreamed of, Lindsay knows that there’s hard work ahead.

“It was incredible and I’m so proud of him, but it does put a the pressure on to make sure that we keep raising the bar. If you start high, you have to keep going up from there, you can’t go down,” she shared. “We really, really, really want to make sure that we impress every single week because we also recognize that this show is more than just who the best dancer is.”

“We want to prove that he’s not just going to give good dances, but he’s also really in this and he loves this, and he wants America to get to know who he is as a person.”

Lindsay also spoke with JJJ about all the nerves she personally had and taking on the tango for their first dance.

Sharna Burgess Opens About Knee Injury In Exclusive DWTS Blog for JJJ

Sharna Burgess Opens About Knee Injury In Exclusive DWTS Blog for JJJ

We were so sad that Sharna Burgess had to sit out from performing on Dancing With The Stars last night.

The pro dancer wrote an exclusive blog just for JJJ, opening up about her knee injury, partner James Hinchcliffe and what next week will look like on the show. Check it:

“Last night was equally incredible and difficult for me. I was so proud to be watching James get a perfect score and dance so beautifully, and at the same time sad that I did not get to share that moment with him. James and I had been planning on being the Joker and Harley Quinn the whole season and I have been planning that number for weeks now! It was definitely a piece I was most excited about this season. However, James truly danced it beautifully and once again brought all of my ideas to life. It was a really difficult week to try and be there for James as much as I normally would. I was still his choreographer and teacher, but it was challenging because I was in another state. I was doing a lot of directing via FaceTime and via video, giving them notes nearly everyday.

“When I returned on Sunday, I had an incredible three hour tweaking session with them and had them really dive into those characters. It was important for me to be there to put the finishing touches on the number and finally see it in person. I must say even though I was not able to perform, it was amazing for me to watch my work as a choreographer and my creative vision come to life. Moments like that remind me of how many layers this show allows me to have with the performances you see week to week. James and Jenna [Johnson] molded into these characters and performed it in a way that could not make me happier. James was such a trooper with adapting to a new partner and Jenna is a fantastic dancer. I genuinely got ‘all the things’ this week and can’t stop smiling about it!

“Heading into Week 9 of the competition, I am still going to rest my knee as much as I can but I am planning to be back as soon as possible. We have two dances these week and it is also ShowStoppers Week and I am very excited about our pairing. We will be dancing the Paso, so you already know it will be fiery, passionate, and very strong!

“I have to give a huge thank you to everybody who has sent me well wishes and messages of healing. I love reading them. I feel it when I am reading them and I am so grateful to have such incredible fans giving me so much support. Please continue to give that support to Team StopNGo like you have been! James really is amazing and he deserves to be in that final! I am going to do everything in my power to get him there, whether I am on the dance floor with him or not.”

Get well soon, Sharna! We can’t wait to have you back on the dance floor!

Jenna Johnson Makes a Deal With Jake T. Austin - Read Her 'DWTS' Week Two Blog!

Jenna Johnson Makes a Deal With Jake T. Austin - Read Her 'DWTS' Week Two Blog!

Every week, professional dancer Jenna Johnson will be writing a blog for JustJaredJr.com and sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from Dancing With the Stars Season 23.

For week two, Jenna opened up to JJJ about her partnership with Jake T. Austin and their Cha Cha:

“Week 2… Diego was sooooo fuego!!” Jenna writes. “What a whirlwind this week was. Jake and I had the challenge of bringing his animated childhood TV character, Diego, into a real life Cha Cha-ing Diego! Our goal was to make it the 2.0 version… A little more mature and a whole lot sexier. I played the role of Baby Jaguar and I have to give it to the wardrobe department who literally slayed the design! My outfit was absolutely incredible.”

Jenna continues, “This week’s rehearsals were a blast. Getting into character was soooo much fun. Jake kept doing his young Diego voice while we were practicing and every time he did, I was rolling on the floor laughing. It was scary how good he was at that voice still. The Cha Cha came very natural to Jake so that made this week so enjoyable because I got to see him improve day by day! But we both felt pressure because we were tied for the second lowest score last week. I was pretty tough on him because I really wanted him to get better, but I think I was a little too hard on him one day so I brought him a peace offering cake to remind him how much I really do love him!!”
