Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford have picked up the bronze medal at the 2013 Skate Canada International held at Harbour Station on Saturday afternoon (October 26) in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
The Canadian pairs skaters, 27 and 28, performed their short program just the day before (October 25) to a piece Eric actually wrote.
Eric studied at Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music and wrote “Tribute” a day after the teams coach, Paul Wirtz died of cancer in 2006.
“Last year we came to this event, skated a clean short, and got 64, so this shows everything that we’ve been working towards and improving,” Meagan shared. “We started with 64 last season and ended with a 73 at worlds, so this is exactly where we want to be. We want to hit those high 70s as we go into nationals and as we go into the Olympics. I think that it’s a good step.”
