During her appearance on Amazon’s Style Code Live, Eva dished on why she chooses to laugh them all off instead of clap back.
I’m not afraid to laugh at myself and embarrassing things happen and funny stories happen and the end of the day all we can do is laugh about it,” she explains. “So, if I have food in my teeth I’ll laugh about it, if you think I look like a worm like that’s funny. I do look like a worm, like sure.”
Eva adds, “You know like I do see it, good hate comment okay. It’s like you can’t touch me. When you laugh at something a hater says…they’re like no they’ll get mad.”
The video shocked some people into awareness, which is what Eva hoped to do, because it’s hard to imagine someone who seems so happy while she’s literally ruling her own universe could have gone through something so traumatic… and real.
But it is real for so many people. And last week a movement continued that would make Eva proud. Click inside to see the love letters that went viral and why they mean so much to people in Eva’s shoes… More Here! »
All we want to do is reach out and hug Eva Gutowski tight after she released her new video.
In the video, Eva bravely opens up about her rape when she was 16.
“It took a lot of courage and a lot of bravery to post this video. I’ve been battling this since I was 16. But to get to share something so powerful and spread a message that this IS going on and IS real is important,” she wrote on Twitter.
Eva adds, “It’s scary sharing something people don’t know how to handle, but I hope you spread the message.”
They aren’t just there to enjoy all the fantastic indie movies either, they’re there to speak at a super cool panel.
“Honored to join @gigigorgeous on a panel at #sundance about using @youtube for social change,” Tyler shared on his Instagram. “Sure, she’s an inspiration to millions, but i love that she’s also just a hilarious friend.”
Gigi is also pictured below at the NYLON x Dream Hollywood Apres Ski party with Harley Quinn Smith and at her documentary premiere of This Is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous.
The social star was trending on Twitter, crashed a website and uploaded a brand new video! ALL IN ONE WEEK!
Eva made the big announcement that she had written a brand new book – “My Life As Eva: The Struggle Is Real” — and it will be out in February!
The book is said to “chronicle funny moments in Gutowski’s life, including living on a diet of ramen noodles (and the occasional lucky maple poptart), and getting dumped not one — not two, but three times in high school”
Just after her announcement on social media, Eva‘s fans flocked to the site and CRASHED IT! Good thing it’s back up and you can still pre-order the book now.
