Jeremy Abbott Skates Breathtaking New Program at Worlds 2014 Exhibition Gala - Watch Here!

Jeremy Abbott makes the audience hold their breath as he performs in the exhibition gala during the 2014 ISU World Figure Skating Championships held at Saitama Super Arena on Sunday night (March 30) in Saitama, Japan.

“It’s really bittersweet for me. I have so many emotions going through my head. I’m happy with how I skated and that was exactly what I wanted to do here. That’s what I’ve been training for. That’s the best I’ve ever skated that program in competition,” the 28-year-old skater told press after his free program the day before which put him in 5th place.

Jeremy was joined on the ice by team mates Ashley Wagner, Madison Chock, Evan Bates, Alex and Maia Shibutani, Marissa Castelli and Simon Shnapir, as well as World champs Mao Asada and Yuzuru Hanyu, both of Japan.

Ice Dancers Alex & Maia Shibutani, Madison Chock & Evan Bates Place 5th, 6th at Worlds 2014

Congrats to Alex and Maia Shibutani, Madison Chock and Evan Bates and Alexandra Aldridge and Daniel Eaton!

The Team USA ice dance teams just completed their competition season with the 2014 ISU World Figure Skating Championships at Saitama Super Arena on Saturday night (March 29) in Saitama, Japan and did pretty awesome in standings.

Siblings Alex and Maia placed 6th after a fantastic short program and free dance, earning a total of 158.57. Madison and Evan were just one place higher in 5th with 167.59 total points.

Newcomers Alexandra and Daniel, who made their senior level debut with the competition, grabbed 17th place and earned 137.37.

“That was really fun! Super excited about how @MaiaShibutani and I attacked and improved after Sochi. #Worlds2014,” Alex tweeted afterwards.

Maia added, “Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic season! Skating in Japan was amazing & I’m so proud of how we performed this week! #Worlds2014.”

Meryl Davis & Charlie White Win First Ice Dancing Gold Medal For USA at Sochi Olympics!

Meryl Davis and Charlie White wave to the crowd inside the Iceberg Palace during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics after grabbing gold on Monday night (February 17) in Sochi, Russia.

The ice dancers earned a whopping total of 195.52 to grab the gold medal — the first gold medal in ice dancing that the United States has ever won.

Canada’s Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, the Vancouver Winter Olympics Gold Medalists and Meryl and Charlie‘s training mates (they share a coach!), grabbed silver with Russia’s Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov grabbed bronze.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates placed 8th, and the ShibSibs, Alex and Maia, placed 9th.

Meryl Davis & Charlie White Break Another Record for Ice Dance Short Program at Sochi Olympics

Meryl Davis and Charlie White celebrate after taking the top spot during the Figure Skating Ice Dance Short Dance at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics held at Iceberg Skating Palace on Sunday night (February 16) in Sochi, Russia.

The Team USA duo topped their best score of 75.98 (during the team event earlier in the week) with a 78.89.

“We were just in our zone, so we could go out and skate like that. It felt awesome. When we were going out, we said, ‘Let’s do it for each other’,” Charlie shared after their skate.

Team USA’s other teams Madison Chock and Evan Bates and bro/sis duo Maia and Alex Shibutani placed 8th and 9th, respectively.

“Congrats to everyone who skated tonight. This is the Olympics! Really well-skated event. Looking forward to bringing it tomorrow! #Sochi2014,” Alex tweeted.

Canada’s teams Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje and Alexandra Paul and Mitchell Islam are in the 2nd, 7th, and 18th positions.

All of the teams will skate tomorrow for the free dance. Can’t wait!

Madison Chock & Evan Bates: 2nd at US Nationals 2014!

Madison Chock and Evan Bates celebrate with their coaches Igor Shpilband and Adrienne Lenda after their free dance during the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at TD Garden on Saturday night (January 11) in Boston, Mass.

The ice dance partners placed second, with 181.44 total points, just behind champs Meryl Davis and Charlie White.

“I think we got lucky,” Evan, 24, shared about their partnership. “I knew I wanted to skate with her, but I didn’t think the relationship would be as good as it is. We have really an ideal relationship in how well we get along together. We love spending time together. We have shared goals and when the pressure is on we skate well together.”

The top three ice dance teams will be going to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Congrats to Madison and Evan!

Alex and Maia Shibutani take to the ice for the short dance program during the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at TD Garden on Friday afternoon (January 10) in Boston, Mass.

The sibling ice dancers came in third place after Meryl Davis and Charlie White, and Madison Chock and Evan Bates, who are also pictured below.

“Sometimes the stakes are high and the emotions are high as well,” Evan, 24, shared with press afterwards. “I was just really thrilled with the performance and proud of Maddie. But you know it’s just the start of the week for us. And tomorrow is definitely important as well.”

The Shib Sibs earned 68.00 points while Madison and Evan grabbed 73.41.
