Evanna Lynch shows off her new braces in this outtake from the October 2010 issue of Nylon mag.
The 19-year-old actress who immortalized Luna Lovegood on screen opened up about leaving Harry Potter behind. She shared, “It’s really sad. Harry Potter was like a security thing. It was like school. Every year you’d know you’d have school at the start of September and then you’d have Harry Potter a few months later. And then to have it suddenly gone…It’s kind of scary.”
But we’ll see Evanna again. She’s not giving up acting that easily anymore: “My ambitions change every five minutes. [I] Definitely [want to continue acting]. When I started, I didn’t think I wanted to. I just wanted to do Luna. But on the last day I was like, ‘I definitely don’t want to stop this.’”
Tom Felton pulls costars Jessie Cave and Evanna Lynch close to him as they stop by the HMV store on Oxford Street in London for the DVD/Blu-ray launch the of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince on Sunday evening (December 6).
The 22-year-old actor recently sat down with MTV earlier this week and chatted about what’s to come in the final two films, how much he enjoys playing the bad guy and wrap parties. Check it:
On filming the future scenes: “We haven’t shot that yet, and I still haven’t had the confirmation whether I’m doing it or we’re going to get someone else to do it. I haven’t heard too much. I guess they’re still making decisions about it now. It is a very exciting scene. I know Daniel [Radcliffe] and I have talked about it and said it’d be a lot of fun to do.”
On working with Helena Bonham Carter: “I’ve rarely had an opportunity to work with the evil family. I’m working with Helena Bonham Carter, who’s a lovely lady and also a completely scary witch when she wants to be. I’m enjoying working with adult cast tremendously.”
On the climatic combat scene in Deathly Hallows: “It’s kind of cool, because this is the first time we’ve had so many castmembers on one set at one time, especially everyone from the evil camp and everyone from the good camp in a Western-style showdown — without revealing too much. It’s an amazing last scene, what we’ve shot of it so far. It’s very exciting.”

Harry Potter costars Evanna Lynch and Matthew Lewis keep close together as they launch 1,000 black balloons into the air at Millennium Bridge in London on Friday afternoon (September 25).
Each balloon that was launched has a ticket with a code that entitles the holder to enter a prize draw. The winner will appear in the final film as a moving portrait on the walls of Hogwarts school.
Matthew shared with BBC News, “The winner will be able to see all the stuff behind the scenes. People always assume the bigger sets are all computer-generated, but a lot of them are actually there.”
Evanna and Matthew are currently filming the last two parts of the Harry Potter series. Evanna revealed revealed that filming on the climactic battle for Hogwarts hasn’t begun. “The big stuff is still to come. I like that because if it’s all at the start it’s a bit of an anti-climax, but they’re keeping that bit until the end,” she said.

Actresses Bonnie Wright and Evanna Lynch show off their stunning dresses as they attend the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince held at Odeon Leicester Square in London on Tuesday night (July 7).
Bonnie, 18, recently caught up with the L.A. Times and revealed that Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) and Ginny’s moment is different than in the book of the same name. She shared, “Their relationship sort of slowly builds and there’s this tension between them. Just when you think the kiss is going to happen, it doesn’t. It’s really a sweet tale of how they’re slowly getting drawn to one another. Obviously, it’s very difficult for Harry with Ginny being his best friend’s younger sister. But the kiss itself happens in a much more intimate environment. It’s just the two of them rather than in the midst of the Gryffindor common room celebrating Quidditch. It’s a bit quieter in the film.”
