Mira, Royal Detective is getting four new specials this summer!
The Disney Junior show will boast extended-length specials celebrating Bollywood music and dancing while also familiarizing young viewers with different perspectives and critical thinking.

Karan Brar steps out for the premiere of his new show Mira, Royal Detective held at The Walt Disney Studios on Saturday (March 7) in Burbank, Calif.
The 21-year-old actor was joined by co-stars Leela Ladnier and Avantika Vandanapu, who you may recognize from Diary of a Future President.
The three are just a few of many South Asian actors who voice characters in the show, which is inspired by the cultures and customs of India.
Also in attendance were co-stars Freida Pinto, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Maulik Pancholy, Karan Soni, Karen David, Roshni Edwards, Kamran Lucas, Rizwan Manji, Parvesh Cheena, Sonal Shah, Hari Kondabolu, Iqbal Theba, and Julian Zane.
Set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur, the series introduces a brave and resourceful girl named Mira, a commoner who is appointed to the role of royal detective by the queen. The series centers on Mira, who, along with her friend Prince Neel, creative cousin Priya, and comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku and Chikku, set out on mystery-solving adventures that highlight critical thinking and encourage deductive reasoning for young viewers.
A second season has already been picked up, and the show hasn’t even started airing yet!
Mira, Royal Detective premieres Friday, March 20th, at 11am EDT on Disney Channel and at 7pm EDT on Disney Junior.

Michelle Obama, Kelly Clarkson, Freida Pinto, Jennifer Hudson and young women from all over the world joined in on the International Day of the Girl Celebration on Today on Thursday morning (October 11) in New York City.

The Today anchors also celebrated with their children, with plenty of dancing and singing all over the stage.
The concert was to honor International Day of the Girl, founded in 2012 by the United Nations, to raise awareness of the needs and important issues girls face across the globe due to gender inequity, including equal access to education, work training, legal standing, medical care and much more.

The 19-year-old The Hate U Give actress is joined by Freida Pinto, Halima Aden and Andie MacDowell to hold “Signs For Hope” in Harper Bazaar‘s September 2018 issue, which is out now.

Freida on using her voice for change and empowerment of girls: “In so many parts of the world, the cycle of misogyny continues to undermine the crucial role that women play in building a community, a country, and an economy. Knowledge is power, and if you give me a platform I will use it.”
Halima, who was born in Kakuma, a refugee camp in northwestern Kenya, on advocating or children around the world: “When I was growing up, I often didn’t know where my next meal was coming from. A child in need knows no politics. It is my responsibility and moral duty to be a voice for those who can’t be heard.”

Abigail Breslin joins Freida Pinto for a photo during the 2016 Greenwich International Film Festival on Friday (June 10) in Greenwich, Conn.
The 20-year-old Scream Queens star and the 31-year-old Slumdog Millionaire actress both received the Rising Changemaker award that night.
“So unbelievably honored to have accepted the Rising Changemaker award at the Greenwich Film Festival tonight and be able to discuss the work of The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence,” Abigail wrote on Instagram after the event.
She added, “It truly fills my heart to see a room full of incredible women using their platforms to shed light on such worthy causes.”
