Cali Sheldon – one of the twins who played baby Emma Gellar-Green on Friends – is all grown up now, and she’s sharing never-before-seen throwback photos from set!
Meghan Trainor has a new song coming out next week… and it’s a song you likely know and love already!
The 25-year-old singer has recorded a cover version of “I’ll Be There for You,” the Friends theme song, and it will be released on the show’s 25th anniversary.
The cover will air on radio station Z100 on Sunday, September 22 at 8:30pm ET, which is the exact time that the first episode debuted on September 22, 1994.
The Empire State Building will have a special music-to-light show set to the tune of the song at that moment too. Fans will be able to download the song at midnight eastern time on September 23.
“I can’t believe Warner Bros. asked me to do this,” Meghan said in a statement. “I’m so honored! I’m so excited that I get to be a part of celebrating such a legendary and iconic show like Friends!”
On not getting a part onFriendsand then refusing to watch sisterDakota Fanningon the show: “I had an [audition] to be on Friends once. I might be remembering this wrong but I think I was gonna be one of Phoebe’s triplets. I auditioned for it but I didn’t get it and I was like, ‘I’m boycotting the show, I’m never watching this again.’ Then my sister was on it [Dakota appeared in the final series] and I refused to watch the episode. I was like, ‘I am not watching this!’”
On how she grew up ‘play acting’ with Dakota: “My sister and I would play these elaborate scenes around the house. Like birthing scenes… I would be the baby, coming out… Crazy stuff like that. We were doing it for ourselves; we weren’t, like, ‘Oh, Mom and Dad, sit down and we’re gonna perform for you.’ That was how we played.”
On how she hopes Aurora in Maleficent is a positive role model, and why it’s OK to embrace femininity: “I want Aurora to be a character that [girls] can look up to, who’s strong and all that. But Angelina [Jolie] and I were talking about this: Maleficent, of course, has the dark side, and Aurora is the one who loves pink and is the light and she’s not afraid to be feminine. I think it’s beautiful that I get to represent [someone] who is strong in her beliefs, but is also unwavering in staying true to herself. I wear dresses the whole time throughout the film… I don’t have a moment where I burst into armor, you know what I mean? There’s nothing wrong with loving your feminine side. I think as women we should really love that part of us.”
“Critics would agree that Ross was never really the most present father,” Colesaid. “And so it doesn’t surprise me too much.”
Cole also opened up about why his twin brother Dylan Sprouse – whom he’d shared all his roles with before Friends – wasn’t cast to play Ben as well.
“Honestly, our appearance as the same character was sort of dependent on how much screen time we had,” Cole revealed. “In Friends, for example, my role was not too present.”
“They only really needed to hire one twin, because both of us were incredibly expensive,” he joked.
