In the episode “Director & Divas”, Dez (Calum Worthy) gets an unexpected opportunity to direct a movie that Austin (Ross Lynch) is in, but things prove problematic when he has to work with Austin’s co-star, Brandy Braxton (Phipps), a high-maintenance actress.
JJJ spoke with Raini and Laura Marano about their other dream careers – check out what they said:
Laura: “In the upcoming Austin and Ally episode, Dez dreams about being a director. If I wasn’t in the entertainment industry, my dream job would involve teaching. Both my parents are teachers, and I really do love school (You say “geek,” I say “enthusiastic about scholastic matters”).”
Raini: “If I wasn’t an actress I would be a singing pediatrician! I’ve always wanted to be a singer and help kids get better. So, why not combine the two?”

“We all knew that we really wanted to build chemistry and to do that you have to trust your scene partner,” Grace‘s co-star Garrett Clayton recently said about the cast. “Grace and Maia [Mitchell] talked about it a little bit and they got us all together. We went and swam out past the ocean to where we kind of had to like doggy paddle ourselves out, and we all told each other one secret. We all confided in each other and we built that trust out right off the bat, just to make sure that we all knew that we were there for each other and that we were ready to do this as a team.”
Grace added about the costumes of the movie, “Our costume Designer Ruth Carter was brilliant. She actually worked with me to try to convey the evolution of my character though costuming. I was very excited to get to play around with the 60s styles. There’s also something to be said about wearing costumes that are so unlike everyday clothes in that you physically don’t feel like yourself anymore- helps with the acting and all that.”
Shot by Justin Campbell, Grace was styled by Francis and Pereira with hair by Melissa DeZarate and makeup by Grace Phillips.
