Grace VanderWaal's 'So Much More Than This' is About Ignoring Drama

Grace VanderWaal dropped her uplifting new song “So Much More Than This” last month, and now she’s getting real about what the song means to her.

“It’s kind of about getting wrapped up and tangled in all of the dumb things in life like drama and phones and how many likes you got on this photo and things that will not matter whatsoever,” she shared on Youtube.

“And just being able to totally get yourself out of that and see the greater picture and what will make you happy and realize that there’s so much more than what you’re getting caught up on.”

With lines like “Doesn’t matter how your hair looks or what they are thinking,” the song is relatable and resonates with many of her young listeners who may be immersed in drama or insecurities right now.

For Noah and Becky, it’s all about inspiring people to follow their dreams and do what they want.

“You can do whatever you want — that’s how I want to influence young girls and boys,” Noah says.

Becky adds, “What empowers you is acknowledging, ‘I am who I am’ — I feel like that’s the influence I want to be making.”
