Sister duo Chloe x Halle just shared their first music video for their epic new song “Drop.”
The 17 and 16-year-old siblings were discovered by Beyonce and signed to her label Parkwood Entertainment after she saw their YouTube cover of “Pretty Hurts.”
The siblings have gone on to win Radio Disney’s N.B.T. contest and even opened for Michelle Obama’s keynote at South by Southwest, performing the song inspired by Michelle‘s Let Girl’s Learn campaign, “This Is For My Girls.”
The singing duo and sisters, who you might remember as the last winners of Radio Disney’s N.B.T., are featured on the “This Is For My Girls” record, along with Zendaya and Lea Michele.
The track is inspired by Michelle‘s Let Girls Lean initiative and the 62 million girls around the world who do not have access to education. Proceeds from the song will go to the Peace Corps Let Girls Learn Fund, thanks to the featured artists all waiving royalties and fees.
“It’s a dream to be opening for First Lady Michelle Obama’s #SXSW keynote!” Chloe and Halle wrote ahead of their performance.
In “Moon Week & Mentors”, Austin (Lynch) and Ally (Marano) are asked to be celebrity judges on a singing competition show that is celebrating “Austin Moon Week.” Ally takes a contestant under her wing that reminds her of her former, shy self and she and Austin work to make the girl a top contender.
Guest star Halle Bailey told JJJ, “Working with Ross and Laura was wonderful. We met them during our “N.B.T.” (Next Big Thing) season, where they mentored us during the first round of competition. Since then, we would always bump into each other and became good friends. Being able to work with them was like hanging out with your friends all day. It didn’t even feel like work! Just a bunch of kids having fun and shooting an episode.”
“Moon Week & Mentors” airs Sunday, September 15th @8:30PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.
