Emily Osment Ad-Libbed the Last Line of 'Hannah Montana'

Emily Osment Ad-Libbed the Last Line of 'Hannah Montana'

The last line of Hannah Montana was almost totally different!

In a new tweet, former co-star Emily Osment (Lily) reveals that she actually ad-libbed the last line of the whole series.

Miley Cyrus was scripted to say the last line, after that emotional hug with Lily in the dorm hallway.

“I love you so much,” she says.

“I know,” Emily answers.

When a Twitter user brought the last line to the actress’ attention yesterday, Emily responded.

“I ad libbed that so I could have the last line of the whole series,” she wrote.

Watch the final scene again (and cry for the rest of the afternoon) below:

Miley Stewart should’ve been Kylie Stewart!

The character behind Hannah Montana, played by Miley Cyrus, wasn’t supposed to be Miley at all — and it’s all thanks to her dad, Billy Ray (who played her dad on the show, too).

He explained in an interview with People Now, “Hannah Montana was originally written about Kylie, and … up until the day we started filming the pilot, it was still Kylie. But I kept saying ‘Miley’.”

Billy Ray adds, “By the third time into it somebody stopped and said ‘Wait a minute, everybody, script change … Kylie is now Miley.’”

“I think looking back at it, that was quintessential to who Hannah Montana was because what it did was open up a door to the real [Miley].”

Minds. Blown.

Emily Osment Would Love a 'Hannah Montana' Reunion, Not A Reboot

Emily Osment Would Love a 'Hannah Montana' Reunion, Not A Reboot

Emily Osment is definitely down for a Hannah Montana reunion, and it’s music to our ears!

The Young & Hungry star opened up about those reboot rumors and while she’s not a huge fan of that, she is up for a reunion.

“It’d be more interesting to see all of us as our normal selves now,” Emily shared with Us Weekly. “I think that would be much more interesting, to get everyone together for an interview to talk about the last 11 years.”

She added that the bond between the entire cast is still strong.

“You go through this experience together where it’s these formative years, 13-18, which is a terrifying age to be in general,” she shared. “You have acne, you cut yourself terrible bangs, you have no style, you’re just going through puberty and it’s terrifying.”

Emily adds, “You have these people that were with you for every step of the way, so it’s really nostalgic and sweet.”

Miley Cyrus Reveals Disney Already Asked Her About 'Hannah Montana' Reboot

Miley Cyrus is opening up about the possibility of Hannah Montana coming back.

The 24-year-old “Malibu” singer stopped by a radio station and revealed she’s already been asked about it!

“Dude, I had to go to Disney the other day to promote, and you know that was the first thing that they said,” Miley told Zach Sang. “Raven [Symone]‘s back. I’m really excited for that. That’s going to be my binge-watch of the year, for sure. Um, but probably not. Probably not, because I don’t even know what’s up, also it’s a lot of time to be spent with my dad. You know my dad was my dad on the show.”

She continued, “I have enough dad time. That was really hard, every day from like 11 to 18, spending, I didn’t get a school break like everyone does. I went to work with my dad. And then I started driving my dad towards the end because I could start driving, and then my grandma went with me. So that was a lot of time spent, dad and grandma, which is why when I turned 18, you wondered why I was twerking at the Juicy J show. I just spent 10 years everyday with my dad and grandma. I had to break free.”

Happy 11th Birthday, 'Hannah Montana' -- The 8 Best Songs, Ranked

Happy 11th birthday, Hannah Montana! In honor of the Disney show that gave us the crazy-talented Miley Cyrus and some seriously head-bob-worthy tunes, we have decided to rank our favorite songs from the show.

Heads up, this title does not say “all of the Hannah Montana songs,” just the absolute bangers.

And major disclaimer: The reason “The Climb” did not make the list is not because it’s unworthy, but because it’s technically by Miley Cyrus, not Hannah. Otherwise it would irrefutably be #1 both on this list and in our hearts.
