Harry Potter's Oliver Phelps Says Meeting J.K. Rowling Was 'Intimidating'

Harry Potter‘s 20th Anniversary is here!

Can you believe it’s really been 20 years since the first book hit shelves? We can’t either.

In a recent interview, Oliver Phelps (he played George Weasley) opened up about meeting the author, J.K. Rowling on the set of the movies.

“She was probably the most intimidating person I’ve ever met in my life,” he confessed. “Not by any fault of her own, just by ? she made everything that we were doing.”

We can imagine that would be intimidating!

Oliver adds, “I remember we were in Rupert’s dressing room on one of the later films, and she came in and totally blindsided all of us. I think we were doing something silly, like, we were playing darts but with a crossbow or something not very mature.”

“She explained where the twins characters came from and where their influences are and stuff like that. I didn’t want to rock the boat too much and ask, ‘Well, what do they do afterwards … what does one of them do afterwards?’ But it was quite interesting learning the backstories and where the characters came from.”

JK Rowling Reveals There Are Two Harry Potters & We Are Forever Changed

Just when you think there’s nothing new you can learn about Harry Potter, JK Rowling breaks out a brand new set of facts to completely shatter those thoughts.

The author revealed on Pottermore this week that Harry Potter isn’t the original Harry, and more fun facts from his family tree — like just how Harry got to inherit the Invisibility Cloak.

Iolanthe Peverell, the granddaughter of Ignotus Peverell, married Hadwin Potter and “in the absence of male heirs, she, the eldest of her generation, had inherited her grandfather’s invisibility cloak.

“From this time on, the cloak was handed down to the eldest in each new generation.”

Another fun fact?

One of Harry’s ancestors is Henry Potter, who went by Harry (just like Prince Harry of Wales right now).

Story goes that Henry (the first) caused a “minor stir when he publicly condemned then Minister for Magic, Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War.”

'Harry Potter' Star Oliver Phelps Finally Answers Our Peter Pettigrew/Scabbers Question

Oliver Phelps and his twin bro James famously played twins George and Fred Weasley in the Harry Potter movies.

In a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Oliver finally answered the question that all HP fans everywhere wanted to ask:

Why didn’t the twins, or any of the Weasley family, notice that Ron’s rat was Peter Pettigrew?

They did have the Marauder’s Map, which is able to show the location of each person in Hogwarts.

“Maybe it’s a boo in the family that no one talks of. ‘Who’s this Peter bloke?’” Oliver shared, offering up an explanation of sorts.

He adds, “Maybe it was an unspoken word in the Weasley’s family.”

Hmmm…calling up J.K. Rowling right now!

However, his mind has been completely changed since he now knows that The Rock is in Hufflepuff too.

“If this is legit, I take back everything I ever said about being a Hufflepuff. I was obviously born to be in that house,” Matt tweeted out.
