Sad news for fans of the horror series The Midnight Club.
Variety reports that the Netflix series from Mike Flanagan has been canceled after only one season on the streaming service.
The series took place at a hospice for terminally ill young adults, where eight patients come together every night at midnight to tell each other stories — and make a pact that the next of them to die will give the group a sign from the beyond.
It was based on the 1994 novel of the same name, as well as other works, by Christopher Pike.

The upcoming Netflix series is based on the Christopher Pike stories, including Witch, Gimme a Kiss, Road to Nowhere, The Wicked Heart and more.
Christopher also serves as an executive producer, alongside series creators Mike Flanagan and Leah Fong, Trevor Macy and Julia Bicknell.

Paris Berelc cozies up to boyfriend and co-star Jack Griffo at the premiere event for Alexa & Katie held at the Netflix Home Theater on Wednesday night (March 21) in Los Angeles.
The full cast — Isabel May, Tiffani Thiessen, Emery Kelly, Finn Carr, Eddie Shin, Jolie Jenkins, Merit Leighton, Nadja Alaya, Iman Benson, and Kerri Medders — gathered together for the screening, which was held in partnership with the American Cancer Society.

The former Uncle Buck star will be starring in Netflix’s Alexa & Katie, JustJaredJr.com can exclusively confirm.
Iman will play the recurring role of Reagan, a friend and classmate of Alexa and Katie at school.
Alexa & Katie, which premieres next year, is about two lifelong best friends Alexa (Paris Berelc) and Katie (Isabel May), who are eagerly anticipating the start of their freshman year of high school.
The friends confront a crisis that leaves them feeling like outsiders at a time when what seems to matter most is fitting in.
Iman is repped by CESD and Primary Wave.
