Olympian Alex Shibutani Honors Sister Maia on International Women's Day

Alex Shibutani is celebrating International Women’s Day right — by shining a light on his ice dance partner, and sister, Maia.

Today, the 26-year-old Olympic bronze medalist headed to Twitter, honoring Maia.

“@MaiaShibutani is brave, intelligent, and compassionate. Strong, courageous, innovative, and inspiring. She is smart. She is funny. She is kind. She is unstoppable, and she is my sister… Maia deserves to have the same rights and opportunities as me,” he starts.

Alex continues, “@MaiaShibutani and I are equals on the same team. We work together on and off the ice to accomplish our goals. We support and respect each other. I couldn’t do what I do without her.”

If this isn’t sibling goals, we don’t know what is.

Freeform Makes 'Sorry' The Worst Word on Earth For International Women's Day for their #NotSorry Campaign

Freeform Makes 'Sorry' The Worst Word on Earth For International Women's Day for their #NotSorry Campaign

Freeform is doing something a little different, and much needed, for International Women’s Day today — they’re bleeping out all their female stars saying “sorry”.

The network is encouraging women of all ages to say with its #NotSorry campaign, and bleeping out every time a female character says “sorry” on the air throughout the day (March 8).

The #NotSorry campaign is in defiance of the cultural norms that condition women to be overly apologetic, and will encourage women to be unapologetically bold.

Freeform has put together a montage of characters from grown-ish, Shadowhunters, The Fosters, The Bold Type, and more with all the “sorries” bleeped out.

Emma Watson Spent #IWD Hiding Feminist Books in NY

Emma Watson Spent #IWD Hiding Feminist Books in NY

Many people (including celebrities) celebrated International Women’s Day yesterday by striking, wearing red, or protesting.

Emma Watson took a creative approach, hiding feminist books around New York City for people to find.

The Beauty and the Beast star partnered with Book Fairies to hide books at statues of iconic women around New York, documenting her incognito journey on Twitter.

“Today I’m a red-striking ninja book-fairy out to spread some wise women’s words,” she tweeted alongside a selfie of her holding a book. She also visited the Harriet Tubman memorial, the Joan of Arc memorial, the Gertrude Stein statue, and Eleanor Roosevelt’s monument delivering books.

One lucky fan caught her delivering books to Blue Stockings bookstore, and got a hug from book-lover (red-clad) Hermione herself.

Book fairies hid books around the world yesterday as well to celebrate.

Thank you for all that you do to promote equal rights, Emma! (And readers: keep your eyes PEELED.)

'Pretty Little Liars' Star Welcomes Baby Girl

'Pretty Little Liars' Star Welcomes Baby Girl

You may remember Nicholas Gonzalez as Spencer (Troian Bellisario)’s hot elevator kiss, but IRL he recently had a baby with his wife, Kelsey — and he couldn’t be happier.

Detective Marco Furey (aka Nicholas) and Kelsey named their baby girl Ever Lee Wilde Gonzalez, and she is adorable.

Nicholas since posted pictures of Ever Lee with an “I voted” sticker to encourage California to vote and in a collage with his wife for International Women’s Day. “Seeing as I am now outnumbered in my home 2:1, everyday is #InternationalWomensDay,” he captioned the sweet pic.

Congratulations, Nick! We’re sure all of the liars are over the moon as well.
