4th Ave Got Encouragement From Timbaland To Become A Band (Exclusive Interview)

4th Ave is going to be the band that you’ll be obsessed with by the end of reading this new interview.

Made up of Mikey Jimenez, Jaden Gray, Cam Jackson, and Marcus Pendleton, the band chatted with JJJ about the latest music, what’s ahead and more.

“Timbaland came up to us and said, ‘Y’all need to be a group, you guys would be dope,’” the band recalls of what helped them decide to give the band a try after all competing on ABC’s Boy Band.

They continued, “While we were cautions to everything, trying to make sure we did the right steps for the future in our life, Timbaland was so adamant about us being a group. He saw an endless amount of potential in us, which provided a sense of encouragement to do this!”

Check out their latest single, “323-894-9108″, below!

Laura Marano Reveals Her Heartbreak Really Shapes Her New Music

Laura Marano Reveals Her Heartbreak Really Shapes Her New Music

Laura Marano has gone moody with her new music.

The 22-year-old entertainer, who just debuted her brand new single “Me”, opened up to JJJ in an interview about her brand new sound and the meaning behind the track.

“It’s funny, it’s such a light, fun song, but honestly, it was kind of personal,” Laura says of the tune. “I wrote a group of songs about this specific person in my life, and this song was about such a specific time in this person’s and my life.”

“It was really fun to write, but I also had to explain this whole personal story to the other writers in the room, so that’s always a party.”

While this song is more upbeat, Laura says there are much more moody ones coming, and a heartbreak is to thank for the new sound.

“It shaped my music so much,” she says of that moment in her life. “My music is the most personal it’s ever been. Half the songs are really moody, and some of the best songs I’ve ever done.”

She continues, “They represent a way more vulnerable, confusing and emotional part of my life. The other half, like Me, are really fun and represent the other part of my life right now: being in love.”

Laura Marano Opens Up On Perseverance & Going Independent With Her New Music

Laura Marano Opens Up On Perseverance & Going Independent With Her New Music

Laura Marano is finally back in the music business after a few frustrating years and trying to release new music.

Now, with brand new single “Me”, the 22-year-old entertainer is taking matters into her own hands and going independent.

“Being independent means being my own boss, so of course, there are so many benefits to that and quite a few cons as well,” she told JJJ in our exclusive chat with her. “It’s going to definitely be way more work.”

Laura adds, knowing that she has to “be very aware of the business side of things, which definitely sometimes gets in the way of the creative side.”

But then again, being independent means that “there are no label politics that are stopping me from releasing music, so I plan to be releasing a lot of songs that I have been working on for months. That fact makes me so ridiculously happy, it’s hard not to be excited about this new endeavor, even if it’s terrifying as well, especially on the financial side.”

Laura also talked with us about not giving up with her music, even though there were many who tried to tell her to do just that.

“I think a lot of people in my life assumed I would just give up, but it was never really an option for me,” she says. “I love music. So, so much. I honestly can’t picture my life without it.”

She adds, “It’s such a tough industry, and I don’t know what the future exactly holds, but I do know that I will always be creating music because it makes me so incredibly happy.”

As for her new single, “Me”, she just wants her fans to embrace it.

“I just want my fans to love it and make up their own stories to the song; but I also want them to get ready because a lot of my music sounds like this!”

Stay tuned for more from our chat with Laura!

Jason Maybaum Got To Pursue Some of His Directing Dreams While Filming 'Freaky Friday' (Exclusive)

Jason Maybaum Got To Pursue Some of His Directing Dreams While Filming 'Freaky Friday' (Exclusive)

Jason Maybaum stars as Fletcher in the upcoming Freaky Friday movie musical on Disney Channel this week, however, that wasn’t his only role.

In between filming, the 10-year-old actor was also learning what goes on behind the camera too. Jason started to pursue more of his interest in the camera and lighting aspects of filmmaking and bonded with the crew, who gave him advice and took him under their wing.

“I want to be the next Ron Howard or Steven Spielberg,” Jason revealed to JJJ in our exclusive interview.

“When I started acting I saw that the director is the boss, so I decided to learn as much as I could from everyone on set so someday I could be the boss,” he adds about his inspiration in wanting to learn more.”

Jason goes on to tell us what he learned, which was “to look, listen, watch and learn from everyone. Anyone who is older than me can teach me something. I have learned how to change the lighting intensity on shots to control shadows to make the actors look different or better, depending on what the director wants.”

He also gave a lot of thanks to the crew who did help you out.

“The camera and sound crew were awesome, they set me up with gear and taught me how to run the equipment so I know not only how to shoot a scene, but what it takes to make the actors look good.”

As far as transitioning from in front of the camera to behind it, it wasn’t that difficult.

“The crew was so awesome and willing to let me learn,” Jason says. “I was able to use my acting skills and link them with what the crew needed to make things work, so it made me a better actor.”

At the end of the shoot, the crew even gave him a video camera as a gift – and yes, he’s been using his video camera a lot!

“I film everything. Sometimes it is great, sometimes good, sometimes bad. But that it is why I do it. No matter how I turns out I learn something about framing the shot, the lighting, the blocking, or the feel for the scene. I love to film stuff.”

Freaky Friday premieres Friday, August 10th on Disney Channel.

Baby Ariel & Daniel Skye Will Be Rocking Converse To Journeys Off To Prom Event (Exclusive)

Baby Ariel and Daniel Skye are looking forward to their first real prom and have partnered up with Journeys Off To Prom event to help other students get the prom they’ve always dreamed of.

The two singers chatted with JJJ about the event, and revealed that they’re both going to be rocking their Converse for the big dance.

“Red converse,” Daniel quickly told us when we asked just which shoes he’d be wearing for the event. “I don’t know what I’m wearing them with, but the red Converse will be on my feet.”

For Ariel, she’ll be in white Converse.

“We’re really excited to be at the prom, because neither of us have been to prom before,” Daniel adds. “Just to have that experience, it’s going to be awesome.”

Here’s how the Journeys Off To Prom event works: Throughout February, students are encouraged to post a picture with their OTP and hashtag #myjourneysOTP and their #zipcode.

Then, next month, the top 10 cities with the most engagement will be narrowed down and will be given the chance to customize their ideal prom by visiting their local Journeys store and receiving a special text code.

From there, the most engaged city to choose their ideal prom elements will win, and in May, Journeys will create it for the students of that city.

“The ones with their pets are the best ones. They’re really cute,” Ariel mentioned to us about the entries she’s seen on social media.

Jenna Ortega Recalls Her Own Chaotic Family Vacation Ahead of 'Stuck at Christmas' Movie Premiere

Jenna Ortega Recalls Her Own Chaotic Family Vacation Ahead of 'Stuck at Christmas' Movie Premiere

Jenna Ortega 100%, absolutely relates to her Stuck in the Middle character Harley in the brand new Stuck at Christmas movie.

Not only do we see Harley get the middle seat in the show normally, but she’s back in that one seat for Christmas too — and what’s even funnier though is that this happens in her real family!

“I have done this same thing,” Jenna told us ahead of the premiere. “[My family and I] traveled to Utah for Christmas to visit family one year and it was a 12 hour car ride.”

“My booty started to hurt sitting in the car, we were pushing each other off,” she explains of the seating arrangement hierarchy in big families. “Like Harley, I’m always stuck in that middle seat and all my real siblings are leaning on me to fall asleep.”

“They’ll lay their heads on my shoulders and it’s so uncomfortable and we’re always pushing each other.”

Jenna continues, “We’ll start off normal and it’s all very calm and hanging out, but then by the end, we’re all arguing with each other, you’re in my seat, stop touching me…I can totally relate to Harley and the Diaz family.

When we told her to call dibs on one of the other seats, Jenna told us it does not work that way: “They never let me sit anywhere else! It’s the because I’m the smallest in the family and that middle seat is the smallest too. It’s not fair at all.”

Don’t forget that Stuck at Christmas also leads into season three of Stuck in the Middle!

“I love that we do that because it just gets everyone excited for the new season,” Jenna shared with us.

Stuck in the Middle is actually one of the only series on Disney Channel that does that.

Jenna adds, “It’s a prep for the new season. We shoot the movies first and then go into the episodes, and it’s nice to have that extra long first episode and the other ones that we film afterwards, are more chaotic too shoot, so having that movie lead in is really nice.”

Stuck at Christmas premieres TONIGHT, December 8th @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel.

'Zac & Mia' Stars Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Reveal Their Favorite Scenes Ahead of Season Finale (Exclusive)

'Zac & Mia' Stars Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Reveal Their Favorite Scenes Ahead of Season Finale (Exclusive)

Zac and Mia is about to get really real, really fast on tomorrow’s season finale of the show — and JJJ has the first sneak peek!

In the final episode, as Mia begins to wrap her head around her new situation, Zac receives clarity on his Make A Wish.

The scene you’ll watch below is extremely hard hitting, but it’s not Kian Lawley or Anne Winters‘s favorite scenes that they filmed.

Speaking with JJJ, Anne revealed that the scene “where Kian sings me a song” is one of the ones she loved the most.

“You liked it, I didn’t,” Kian chimed in. “It was so embarrassing. I got hot, I got anxious. I was really nervous.”

Anne adds, “See, that’s so cute. It’s stuff like that, that makes it so real on set. It was such a cute moment. Even in the table read, and he was reading the song out loud, it was still such a cute and great moment. Everyone was smiling about it.”

Watch the sneak peek below and tune in for the season finale, premiering TOMORROW on go90.
