'iZombie' Recasts Another Role, Molly Hagan Joins as Rose McIver's Mom

iZombie is making another cast change to its original pilot episode.

According to EW, Switched at Birth actress Molly Hagan has joined as Eva Moore, mother to Rose McIver’s Liv.

Eva is reportedly “a hospital administrator and overbearing mother who watches her ambitious daughter become a zombiefied couch potato who breaks off her engagement to every mom’s dream son-in-law.”

Actress Nora Dunn originally played Eva in the pilot. The change comes after the network also recast the role of Liv’s BFF Peyton with Aly Michalka.

iZombie is set to premiere midseason on The CW.

Rose McIver & Her 'iZombie' Cast Do Zombie Walk & It's The Best Picture Ever

Rose McIver & Her 'iZombie' Cast Do Zombie Walk & It's The Best Picture Ever

This picture of the iZombie cast doing a zombie walk might just be the best picture of the entire 2014 San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.

Star Rose McIver took center stage with her co-stars Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, David Anders, and Robert Buckley during the WB Portrait Studio.

Fans and press alike were wondering if the show would incorporate other supernatural creatures over it’s course but co-creator Rob Thomas put those to rest: “No, we’re going to be a straight zombie show.”

iZombie follows a medical student turned zombie, who joins a Coroner’s Office in order to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat so that she can maintain her humanity. But for every brain she eats, she also inherits their memories and must now solve their deaths with help from the medical examiner and a police detective.

'iZombie' Creators Talk Tone of New CW Show: 'More Buffy, Less Veronica Mars'

'iZombie' Creators Talk Tone of New CW Show: 'More Buffy, Less Veronica Mars'

Rose McIver gets a cute hug from co-star David Anders during the iZombie press line during the 2014 San Diego Comic Con held at the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday night (July 25).

The two were joined by Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and creators/exec producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright.

Rob dished about the tone of the show and comparisons to Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Veronica Mars.

Diane and I have a similar aesthetic in our shows and our dramas have a sense of humor. So I think tonally, we’ll live in that (Veronica Mars) world. iZombie is clearly dialed up with more action. Sometimes fans put Veronica and Buffy The Vampire Slayer in the same category and I would say that this is closer to Buffy,” he shared.

Diane added, “Liv is less snarky than Veronica Mars.”
