Jacquie Lee Releases Live Performance Video of 'The Old Me' - Listen!

Jacquie Lee fans are patiently waiting for her forthcoming EP Broken Ones this month, but this new release may just tide them over.

The Voice alum dropped a live performance of her song “The Old Me” this week, and it’s stunning.

“Live performance of ‘the old me’ coming out on the EP this November,” the 20-year-old songstress tweeted with a link to the video.

Jacquie sings at a piano in front of floor-to-ceiling windows and gazes through the glass at the world outside while she performs: the video is largely centered on her stunning vocals more than visuals.

Jacquie Lee is back with another powerful song called “For You”.

Speaking with Billboard about the track, the Voice alum explains that it’s a letter she wrote to herself.

“I do keep journaling, no matter how bad it gets, or whatever state of mind I’m in,” she says. “Journaling has always been something that’s helped me get out of it. So that’s where all my lyrics come from. ‘What are you going through?’ It’s such a freeing kind of experience that’s way more therapeutic if it’s just you, your life.”

Jacquie continues, “I was just trying to, I guess, shake myself and be like, ‘Jacquie, what the f*** are you doing?’ I was partying a lot and trying to distract myself… That was the moment I realized that you can’t rely on anyone else to be a rock for you.”

“You need to be that person for yourself. Life’s gonna throw so much shit at you. That’s unavoidable, but you’ve gotta hang in there.”

Jacquie Lee is back again with another amazing song called “California Dreaming”.

The former Voice contestant opened up about the story behind the track, saying that it was “inspired by loneliness and the city of LA.”

“When I moved I’d never lived on my own before and I had also just split with my boyfriend of a couple years,” Jacquie remembers. “I wasn’t really sure who I was on my own. One thing that I would turn to when I felt anxious or depressed was roaming around the city and people watching.”

“It gave me mixed emotions – the two most common were sadness and motivation.”

She adds, “Ultimately what I took from it all was that nothing in life is perfect. There will always be unavoidable highs and lows, but if you have a passion and a dream don’t let any of the bullshit get in your way. Feel all of your feelings and do what you love doing, otherwise what’s the point? Fear won’t dictate the little time I have on this planet anymore.”

Jacquie Lee has made a triumphant return to music with a gorgeous new song called “Somebody’s Angel”.

The singer — who you remember as the voice behind “It’s Our World” from Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom — took some time off of music after BFF Christina Grimmie‘s untimely death.

“I was having a really hard time getting back into my routine and my normal life,” Jacquie shared about the track inspiration and her encounter with one special homeless woman. “She asked me if I had ever dealt with death and if I believed in a heaven. Surprisingly, I started opening up to her within seconds.”

She adds, “All of the details of the pain of loss and faith came spilling out of my mouth. Before I had to leave, she left me with the words, ‘Don’t worry, she is in a better place I promise you. She’s somebody’s angel now.”
