Get excited — The Host is headed to Bluray and DVD!

Based on the book by author Stephenie Meyer, a parasitic alien soul is injected into the body of Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan). But, instead of carrying out her race’s mission of taking over the Earth, she forms a bond with her host and sets out to aid other free humans.

Bonus features include deleted scenes, “Bringing The Host To Life”, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film, featuring interviews with Ms. Meyer, Saoirse, Max Irons, and Jake Abel and the “Seeker PSA”, a feature commentary with Ms. Meyer, screenwriter/director Andrew Niccol, and producer Nick Wechsler.

Tom Felton and Jake Abel are set to star in the upcoming Ghosts of the Pacific.

Also starring Garret Dillahunt, the film is the true story of three WWII Navy flyers cast adrift on the South Pacific in 1942.

Ghosts of the Pacific recounts the incredible journey of pilot Harold Dixon (Dillahunt), bombardier Tony Pastula (Felton), and radioman Gene Aldrich (Abel) – virtual strangers assigned to a scouting mission on January 16, 1942. When they are forced to ditch their plane, the men are left with no food, water, or supplies; only a 4×8-foot yellow life raft to keep them afloat on a dangerous ocean.

Directed by Brian Falk, principal photography begins next week in Mexico.

“I’ve always been attracted to true stories that showcase ordinary people in extraordinary situations,’ Executive Producer Joe Ricketts shared in a statement. “The men in Ghosts of the Pacific faced seemingly insurmountable odds and yet they never gave up. They were America’s first heroes of the Pacific war.”

Jake Abel and Max Irons hit up the SiriusXM Studios on Friday morning (March 29) in New York City.

The two Host actors chatted up their new film, out in theaters NOW.

“I first met and worked with Saoirse [Ronan] when she was 14 and I was 18. I’m pretty sure before I met her, at that point, I was going, ‘Syeee-orrrrshhh? Sourcey?’ Really trying to overcomplicate it and emphasize it. Just horrific. But I rarely call her by her real name anyway,” Jake shared with Next Movie about pronouncing Saoirse‘s name.

He added, “[I call her] Sersh. Skeesh. Skeesha. Skersh. Pretty much anything that comes to mind. Anything with a ‘shh’ and a ‘ck’ in there, and she’s like ‘I hear it, what do you need?’”

Saoirse is also pictured below arriving at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Thursday night (March 28).

In the follow-up to Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Percy (Logan Lerman) travels to the mythical land known as Sea of Monsters to retrieve a golden fleece that is essential to saving an ailing magical tree that protects his home, Camp Half-Blood.

He departs with his Olympian sidekicks Annabeth Chase (Alexandra Daddario) and satyr Grover (Brandon T. Jackson).

Leven Rambin, Jake Abel, and Douglas Smith also star.

Percy Jackson & The Sea of Monsters opens August 16th!

Congrats, Jake Abel and Allie Wood — the longtime couple just announced that they’re engaged!

According to US Weekly, the 25-year-old Host actor confirmed the news in the mag’s collector’s edition glossy.

“We got engaged on New Year’s,” Jake shared. In fact, it was in Times Square.

“Best.Night.Of.My.Life!” he tweeted after it happened.

He added last night at The Cinema Society’s screening about his fashion blogger fiancee, “My fiancee is very supportive. She’s like, ‘Wear that! It’s more handsome. They’ll like you more!’ It’s good. I got a good one.”

“The most amazing part of it all was working with William Hurt and Frances Fisher, these two legends that I’ve watched since I was young – I’m sure they would hate me saying that (laughs),” Jake recently shared.

He added, “But they’re absolute legends, it was a thrill to get in the ring with them everyday and learn something new. It was a real treat, it was a real treat even just watching them work on ‘The Host.’ I really enjoyed that.”

FYI: Max wore a Gucci suit with Christian Louboutin shoes. Jake wore an Emporio Armani suit and shirt with Dior shoes and a Jaeger-LeCoutre watch.

The 27-year-old actor was accompanied on the cross-country flight by his The Host co-star Jake Abel. The guys are in town for the NYC premiere of the film.
