The musician has opened up about the inspiration behind the new bundle of tracks and his goal with them all.
“I’ve always written the lyrics to my own songs but these songs that I’ve been making recently, it’s very important to me that I have pretty much all of the creative control,” Jake says. “The goal is to put out a project within the next month or two.”
“The lyrics are a little bit more authentic [than my past work], he adds, revealing, “I’ve been going through a breakup recently so it’s been very easy for me to kind of pull myself out in terms of lyrics and just be extremely real.”
Jake shares, “It’s never been easier in my entire life to write a song just because right now I’m feeling a lot of emotion. I think that people are really going to be able to feel those emotions through these lyrics because I’m writing every single word and it’s coming from a very real place.”

Jake Miller – Living Room (Feat. Cal From Timeflies) (Prod. Jake Miller)
Jake Miller just nailed it with his brand new video for “Good Thing”, giving us that old school 1940s vibe.
The singer dropped his new visual this morning, which sees him crooning and romancing a beautiful girl right from the stage.
“We wanted to do a vintage movie vibe,” Jake dished to Teen Vogue. “When you think of a vintage movie, you kind of go back to simpler days when not much social media or any of that stuff got in the way.”
He adds, “The whole point of the song is that we’ve got a good thing going on, we don’t need to overthink it. We can just go out and have a good time and we don’t need to tell anybody what we are. We don’t need to label each other, we can just go with the flow and see what happens. It doesn’t matter about anybody’s outside perspective or anybody’s outside opinions, we’re just gonna do us because it’s a good thing going on between us.”
Really sad news for Jake Miller fans – he’s postponing his Overnight Tour.
The 24-year-old singer shared the news on social media, saying the decision wasn’t his.
“Extremely nervous to tell you all something that I know you don’t want to hear,” Jake wrote. “For reasons out of my control, we have to postpone the Overnight Tour. I am just as heartbroken as all of you. But I promise I’ll be making it up to you very shortly with a full announcement of rescheduled dates! Nothing in the world makes me happier than touring, playing music for you, and meeting you guys. So I promise I will be back on the road asap. I love you all so much and appreciate your continued support. Stay tuned for more info! All refunds can be found at the place of purchase. New music coming in the meantime. I love you and I’m sorry!”
When a fan offered support, Jaketweeted, “I’m okay don’t worry, just some music biz bs. Just a little speed bump”
He also added, “The good news is, I’m gonna be dropping a lot of new songs for you guys along with videos to them. Also working on a documentary.”
