Jake recently spoke with Latina about his other work with Boys and Girls Club of America.
“I was approached by both organizations and I was really blessed and honored to have been asked to a part of this project,” he shared. “As a kid, I wasn’t always sure how the year would turn out for me. While there are others who are going hungry and who can’t secure themselves with these basic necessities, we’re trying to fulfill one of those – a great school year.”
“The fact that my mom’s an oncology nurse means I’ve been very close to the world of cancer, and it’s not something to tiptoe away from,” he shared. “So I’m using my position as a platform to bring a message to kids: to get involved, whether it be donating or educating themselves about the cause.”
“[I got involved] because it spoke to my personality and my roots. We had a close family friend who just passed away from cancer, and I was in awe watching the courage and strength some of these patients have…I make it a point to visit the House and reconnect with a lot of kids whenever I can,” Jake added.
In “Clean”, Brandon (David Lambert) struggles to please his demanding new piano teacher and rebuffs an offer from Talya (Madisen Beaty) to reconnect. When an embarrassing video of Talya circulates around the school, Callie (Maia Mitchell) lends her support and urges Brandon cut her some slack.
Meanwhile, Mariana (Ramirez) and Jesus (Austin) go to tell Ana to leave Mariana alone. The encounter with his birth mom and her desperate situation drive Jesus to take matters into his own hands, a move that could have dire consequences for the whole family.

To make matters worse, Stef’s conservative father, Frank (Sam McMurray), shows up and the family dinner threatens to turn into an all-out moral debate.
Meanwhile, Callie (Maia Mitchell) attends a group therapy session for foster children and meets someone with a connection to her past — a past that will come back to haunt her. Wyatt holds a destructive party at his childhood home, which is under foreclosure, and Callie realizes he’s much more hurt than he lets on.
