Check out the cover art for Jasmine V‘s new mixtape, S(he) Be(lie)ve(d).
The 17-year-old musician writes on the back cover of the mixtape, “Sometimes in life u can be in relationships that make u feel so silly. I finally realized that this thing we have has all been a masquerade. It got back to me that he tells people, ‘I’m just a friend,’ what the #$@!!! How embarassing!”
Who could she be talking about…
Tracks include “S(he) Be(lie)ve(d),” “So Silly,” “Jealous,” “Just a Friend,” “Masquerade,” “Angel,” “This Isn’t Love,” “Hello,” “Werk,” and “The Break Up Song.”
Jasmine V walks the streets of her neighborhood in the brand-new video for “Just a Friend.”
The 17-year-old musician tells TooFab about the tune, “‘Just A Friend’ is an inspirational song to teach girls to value themselves and if they’re with a guy who doesn’t want to claim them in public, then they need to realize he’s not the one for them and keep it pushing.”
The 17-year-old singer talked music and more with the mag. Check it:
On maintaining a healthy body image: “A lot of times it has to do with what you wear and how you wear it. You really have to find something that fits your body right and suits you.”
On when she first fell in love with music: “So long ago! My parents told me that when I was a baby I’d mumble the lyrics to “You Are Not Alone†by Michael Jackson a lot. Music was something I grew up with. I’d go crazy without it.”
On artists she’s like to work with: “I’d love to work with Alicia Keys. She’s been my idol ever since I was little. If I ever see her I’ll be like, “Oh my God.†I’d also love to work with Rihanna, because music-wise I see myself as like a baby Rihanna—only toned down a bit.”

Jasmine has been dishing out friend advice on Twitter a lot, to gear her fans up for the tune.
