Richard Dornbush and Jason Brown finish off their short programs on a high during the 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships held at TD Garden on Friday night (January 10) in Boston, Mass.
The two took the second and third places following Jeremy Abbott, who took the top spot. Richard, 22, grabbed 92.04 points while Jason, 19, took 87.47.
Also placing in the top 6: reigning national champ Max Aaron and Adam Rippon, in 4th and 6th, respectively.
“You’ve got to assume that everyone’s going to skate well once again, but I’m really here to skate and see where I land,” Max, 21, shared afterwards. “I’m really happy with where I am right now and it just sets me up well.”

Congrats to Patrick Chan!
The 22-year-old Canadian skater broke not just one or two, but three world records during the 2013 Trophee Eric Bompard ISU Grand Prix held at the Palais Omnisports de Bercy on Saturday night (November 16) in Paris, France.
“A score like that – if I put that up at the Olympics I think it will be very, very hard to beat,” Patrick shared with press afterwards. “This is a grand prix event I’ve been to many times. The Olympics is only the second time (for me) and I’m competing against the best skaters in the world so it’s a very different circumstance, a very different atmosphere.”
Patrick scored 295.27 points total, smashing the world record to pieces.
Team USA’s Jason Brown also medaled, taking home the bronze with a score of 243.09.
