David Dobrik is pretty well known for surprising fans in big ways!
The YouTuber has uploaded many videos where he goes out and surprises people with big cash prizes, cars, and more.
He’s also teamed up with brands to help give away some items, from video game consoles to even Tesla cars!
While appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, airing on Wednesday (November 4), David opened up about what inspired his surprise videos.
“Growing up I was a big fan of military surprise videos,” he told Drew. “I’m such a sucker for reactions whether someone is reacting they are terrified or scared or super happy, I love it all.”
“When I got the chance to surprise people in a positive way rather than scare them with like a spider or some kind of animal, that’s what I wanted to lean towards. It’s the most selfish feeling to surprise others with people because the joy you get from them being happy, it pays it back ten-fold. It’s the best,” David added.

David took home awards for the First Person category, Ensemble Cast (“Vlog Squad”), and Collaboration (for his video with Kylie Jenner).
“Ensemble is like, my favorite one to win,” David told ET. “I don’t know what it is about that one, but that’s the most exciting one that I really want to try and get. [The nominations are] insane, and I can’t say this enough – it’s all because of these guys. I have a group of like, 15, 20, 30 friends, and they help me day in and day out with all the videos.”
“We are all really, really thankful,” he added. “I don’t like opening up in front of everyone… I don’t really know how to be thankful and like, say it verbally, but I really, really am. I appreciate it.”
The 23-year-old YouTuber married his friend Jason Nash‘s mom Lorraine back in May after Jason said no one would ever marry David.
David and Lorraine split the following month and now David has officially signed the divorce paperwork.
“After a long few months, I officially signed the divorce papers to my wife, Lorraine. Jason your mother was a real treat. With that being said I also reactivated my @bumble account and I’m ready to start swiping. See you soon ladies,” David wrote on his Instagram.
