In “Paint It Black”, Sam and Dean investigate a string of suicides committed by people with little in common other than the identical, grisly method of death – slow, self-administered disembowlment. All of the victims were members of a Catholic church and had recently given confession, leading the brothers to suspect the priest (Stephen Daniel Curtis) is somehow involved.
Meanwhile, when Crowley (Mark Sheppard) captures Olivette (Teryl Rothery), the leader of the Grand Coven, Rowena (Ruth Connell) pleads her case to be allowed to practice magic freely again.

Jared recently opened up about his battles with depression while showing some love and support for nonprofit organization To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA), which helps those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.
“And I, in the past, have had my own struggles of not [being] so happy with where I am in life, which is strange and I think it goes to show… Maybe a lot of people don’t know this, but Season 3, we were shooting an episode and I went back to my trailer to get changed and just kind of broke down,” Jared shared to Variety.
He added, “A doctor came to set and talked to me for about 30 minutes, or 45 minutes and said, ‘Jared, I think you’re clinically depressed. I think I should write you a note and we can shut down production for five days and then we can take it from there.’ And it kind of hit me like a sack of bricks.”

“I would just describe it as something of a love letter to our fans, and there will be songs,” exec producer Jeremy Carver, dished about the episode at the TCA tour. “We’re going pretty meta.”
Jared added, ““We’re not at a convention, but we’re at a place where they’re doing a play based on the Chuck Shurley books. So not only are these books based on our lives, now people are doing a play based on these books, and someone is haunting it, so we go and try to investigate what’s going on at this play, based on the books about our lives.”
“It’s walking into a theater and seeing your life in pictures before you, but it’s from the perspective of the fans of the series,” Jensen continued.

“I would like to see Dad come back,” Jensen recently dished on who he’d love to see come back to the show. “I’d love to see John Winchester come back. I don’t know how he would come back; I don’t know how that would world. I just know that the dynamic between the brothers and the father was just so unique and so great.”
He added, “I was a shame that the character had to leave when he did. I understand why he had to go, and I don’t disagree with that. It’s just that with Jeff[rey Dean Morgan], and Jared and I – there’s a chemistry, I think, that really just worked well and kind of exploded on the screen.”
