JustJaredJr.com and Miss Behave star Jillian Clare have bonded over books since we first met her — so it’s a no brainer that she would want to participate in our National Book Week.
Check out what book the 19-year-old actress just can’t get enough of below!
What is your favorite book and why?
I have a lot of favorite books (I’m a huge book nerd) but my ultimate favorite is “Pride and Prejudice.” It’s a classic. The love story is so beautiful and I have such a strong connection to the main character, Elizabeth. I’ve always felt we have similar personalities. I’ve read the book so many times now…I can’t get enough of it. I even have a copy of it from the 1800s!
Why should everyone read it?
Like I said, it’s a classic. I get that some people don’t enjoy long stories, and they can get boring….but it’s a beautiful book. Jane Austen has such a wonderful way with words.
What’s the first book you remember reading?
“Don’t Cut My Hair!” I have no idea who wrote it. I just remember there being a fluffy animated dog on the cover and the whole book was about the dog not wanting to get groomed. It was so cute!
Do you judge the book by its cover?
Cover art definitely attracts me to books if I’m at a bookstore. But I also love when people suggest books to me. It’s all about the story.
How do you feel about all the books being made into movies?
I think it works for some stories. I just don’t want everything to be based off of books. There are certain books that should just be left alone.
Check out this first look at Jillian Clare in the upcoming indie, The Kitchen.
The Kitchen, set in a kitchen in Silver Lake, Calif., is a comedy about a girl’s ill-fated 30th birthday party. Jillian, 19, plays Nikki – a friendly and flirtatious ditz who has an inner logic that somehow makes sense.
Also starring former October Road cast mates Laura Prepon and Bryan Greenberg, Jillian shared with JJJ, “I’m so excited to be working on The Kitchen with such a talented cast. I’ve been a huge follower of That 70′s Show forever, and loved October Road that starred Bryan and Laura as well. Now I get to work with both of them and so many other great people in this fantastic movie. It’s very exciting!”
