Team Nick saw the two vocalists perform a duet of Billie Eilish‘s “when the party’s over”.
Joanna and Roderick put on one heck of a show that had all of the coaches in awe.
“Wow… @joannaserenko and @musicbyroderick that was a near-impossible choice. Thank you both for sharing your gift with me and now the world! #TeamNick #VoiceBattles,” Nicktweeted after their performance aired.
After the coaches gave their feedback, Nick made the choice to keep Roderick. Joanna was then stolen by John Legend to stay in the competition.
After blowing away all four judges and getting a four chair turn, the 18-year-old singer from St. Louis, Mo., ended up picking Nick Jonas as her coach.
This marks the very first time Nick has a won a four chair turn battle. Such a big night for him!
“You see what happens when you fight for something you want? YOU GET IT! LET’S DO THIS JOANNA! #VoicePremiere,” Nicktweeted.
“Feeling so energized from all the love I’ve been receiving tonight. And also SO sorry @johnlegend… #TEAMNICK Red heart,” Joanna added on her own account.
