Louis Tomlinson Says One of His Mom's Dying Wishes Was For Him to Reach Out to Zayn

Former One Direction members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik have been through so much together — and Louis‘ mom Johannah Deakin knew that.

Louis revealed in a new interview that one of his mother’s dying wishes before passing away from leukemia was to make up with Zayn, and we’re not crying, you’re crying.

“My mum said, ‘You’ve got to get back in contact with Zayn. Life’s too f-king short,’” the 25-year-old “Back to You” singer told The Sun. “My mum always knew what I was feeling and what I wanted.”

He followed her advice.

“I met up with him and it was nice,” he said.

In a recent interview, Louis confirmed that all of the One Direction members are still “best mates,” despite what the media may portray. We’re so glad that they were able to remember all that they’ve been through together, and that Louis had such a wonderful mother in his life.

Louis Tomlinson was really, really close to his late mother Johannah Deakin.

The 25-year-old former One Direction singer even talked to her about his love life.

“I remember the day I lost my virginity. I hadn’t even told any of my mates and I was, like: ‘Mum? I know this is really weird. But I’ve got to tell you…” Louis told The Observer. “I remember thinking this is a bizarre conversation to be having with your mother. But it’s testament to how comfortable she made me.”

Johannah sadly lost her battle with leukemia back in December at the young age of 42.

Louis attributes their bond to how close they were in age, telling the outlet that she even “had the password to my email.”

Louis Tomlinson‘s mom, Johannah Deakin, sadly lost her battle with leukemia late last year, just days before he made his debut as a solo artist.

In a new interview with The Observer, the “Just Hold On” singer remembers her telling him that her cancer was terminal — “At Jamie Vardy’s wedding of all places. Talk about your places, for something super-traumatic. My mum told me, uh, yeah, that she was definitely terminal.”

He adds that he was very close to his mother and his drive for pursuing a solo music career was all because of her.

“I remember saying to her: ‘Mum, how the f*** do you expect me to do this now?’ And she didn’t swear much, my mum. She’d always tell me off for swearing,” Louis says. “And this time she was like: ‘You’ve got to f****** do it, it’s as simple as that.’”

He adds, “I’m not gonna claim this is all for me mum. But it was definitely…It was…”

“Sometimes my reservation, or my confidence, might have prevented me from doing something. And I’ve needed a mum in the past to kick me up the arse and go: ‘You’re doing it.’”
