Jordan Fisher Shares His Adoption Story on DWTS

Jordan Fisher bravely shared his personal story of adoption tonight during Dancing with the Stars.

The Hamilton star has kept his personal story close to his heart for a long time and this marks the first time he’s opening up about it.

“My most memorable year was 2005, because it was the year that I was officially adopted. I was taken in by my grandparents almost from birth,” he says. “My mother was 16 when she had me and struggled with substance abuse. Drugs can make someone really selfish.”

“She wasn’t fit or ready to be a mom and take care of a kid,” he continues. “My grandparents took me out of that world.”

“They were always Mom and Dad to me. They’re the best. This week is going to be my dedication to them. [I remember] going to the courthouse and the judge saying ‘By the power vested in me, you are officially Mom and Dad’. I think there’s something to be said about a document, legally proving something you know to be fact already. The slam of the gavel, it’s kind of like being reborn.”

“My being adopted, it saved me. It literally saved my life. It could’ve been really tough and…I was so loved. I’m just so grateful for them.”

Jordan younger siblings, Cory and Trinity, were also adopted by his parents, Pam and Rodney Fisher.

Lindsay Arnold Reveals Her Guilty Pleasure That She Doesn't Feel Bad About At All (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Reveals Her Guilty Pleasure That She Doesn't Feel Bad About At All (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold gets in a fun photo booth shot with her girls inside People Magazine’s ‘Ones To Watch’ Party held at NeueHouse Hollywood on Wednesday night (October 4) in Los Angeles.

The Dancing With The Stars pro met up with co-stars Sharna Burgess and Witney Carson, plus her partner Jordan Fisher and Sasha Pieterse at the event.

Speaking with JJJ earlier this week, Lindsay opened up about her own guilty pleasure, which was the theme on DWTS on Monday.

“I put a lot of thought into this actually,” she admits. “Initially, I was like what do I love the most? Food. What’s the best food? Dessert. But do I feel guilty about that? No. I don’t feel guilty about loving food at all.”

However, she did find one after all and it’s much like Lindsey Stirling‘s guilty pleasure of staying in pajamas all day long.

“I hate putting on makeup and doing my hair. I hate getting all dressed up…I think that growing up as a dancer, that’s always something I would have to do to compete,” Lindsay tells us. “Even on the show, we are always getting fully glammed out on Mondays.”

“So, any chance I can get to just sit on my couch, in my sweatpants with no makeup on — that is my guilty pleasure. But, again, I don’t feel bad about that at all (laughs).”

Maybe we're born with it ????????????

Jordan Fisher Reveals Meaning Behind His New Single 'Mess' (Exclusive)

Jordan Fisher Reveals Meaning Behind His New Single 'Mess' (Exclusive)

Tomorrow, we will be blessed with a brand new song from Jordan Fisher called “Mess” — and JJJ‘s got all the details about the track right now.

We spoke to Jordan recently about his new song and found out just how excited he was about releasing new music for his fans.

“It’s been about a year since I’ve released new music and it’s simply because I’ve wanted to restructure my sonic foundation and really determine what I want people to hear from me,” he says.

He was taking his time with it all because “the debut album is always going to be the debut album, it will be my very first album, and this is the first single off of it.”

Talking about “Mess”, Jordan reveals that it’s all about women in general and just how they are so much smarter than men will ever be.

“It’s a bit of a narrative kind of song,” he says. “I think that women are pretty incredible creatures and you guys are much smarter than men and know how to play with our brains and mess with us.”

Jordan adds, “It’s the truth. You guys know how to do things with guys brains that we could never do. You like to mess with us and that’s the concept of the song.”

We can’t wait to hear it!

Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold Will Dance Contemporary For 'DWTS's Most Memorable Year Next Week

Jordan Fisher & Lindsay Arnold Will Dance Contemporary For 'DWTS's Most Memorable Year Next Week

Next week is Most Memorable Year on Dancing With The Stars and we’re getting the scoop on Team Fish Upon a Star‘s performance straight from them.

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold will be performing a contemporary piece for the show.

“It’s by far the most special week that Jordan and I will share together,” Lindsay exclusively tells JJJ. “We’ll be opening up about his family story and it’s something that he’s never actually shared publicly before.”

She adds, “He’s really looking forward to sharing this and I’m excited because I know how important it is to him. I want to make sure that we tell the story in a way that he’s always wanted to tell it. We’re doing a contemporary, so it will be emotional.”

So, fair warning, bring tissues.

Not much is known about Jordan‘s family situation as it’s something he’s guarded, so this truly is the first time he’ll be opening up about it.

“I’ve talked to Jordan a little bit about his story,” Lindsay adds, “and America will be able to hear this incredible story that made Jordan who he is today. It’s unique and he recognizes how blessed and how lucky he is to have had the life and childhood he had. He’s grateful for that and you’ll be seeing how the things that happened to him have shaped him.”

If you missed Jordan and Lindsay‘s Incredibles-inspired Charleston, watch it now!
