Joshua Bassett Admits He Hadn't Seen This 'HSMTMTS' Scene Until Recently

Get some tissues, because this video is emotional!

The cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series look back on some of the highlights from the show’s first season and share tidbits.

One particular moment that stands out is Joshua Bassett admitting that he never actually watched the dressing room scene with Olivia Rodrigo in the finale.

“I haven’t actually watched this. I haven’t watched it,” he says. “What’s crazy is seeing people holding up the laptop and saying it word for word, like perfect. I’m like wow, that is dedication.”

Matt Cornett said that everybody in hair and makeup was sobbing while Joshua and Olivia were filming that scene and trying to stay quiet because they were close by.

Joshua also shared that before the last take, showrunner Tim Federle pulled him aside and told him to just improvise and say what he thought Ricky would say, and that’s what they used!

Sabrina recently opened up about not trusting anyone after being Punk’d by Chance the Rapper on the Quibi reboot series.

“I don’t trust anyone anymore. I don’t trust anything. Ever since that day, I can’t see my house the same, I can’t look at my security cameras the same, everything just feels wrong,” Sabrina told Travis Mills on Apple Music. “I feel like I always hear rats in my attic because he basically punked me by making me think my house was infested with hundreds of rats. Which was a little too realistic, hit a little close to home because I did have one rat in my attic when I first moved into this house and it was already dead, unfortunately to all the rat fans out there, it was dead. But, I don’t know why I’m laughing, that’s terrible.”

“Anyways, got rid of the rat, thought the rat problem was gone. And then my mom, the little crazy psychopath of an actress that she is, weeks before I was punked set me up by being like, ‘Sabrina. I think I hear the rats again,’” she continued. “I’m like, ‘I think we have to call the exterminator, it’s getting pretty bad.’ I was actually shooting [Disney+ movie] Clouds and I was like, ‘Mom, I don’t care. Just please handle it, I am terrified.’ And so then this night she was like, ‘The exterminators are there, it’s gotten really bad. And we might not be able to stay at home tonight.’ And I was like, ‘Bro, what?’ I was like, ‘I was just there. I didn’t hear anything.’ And then that was the night that it all went down and I sobbed in front of the camera while Chance was eating craft service in my backyard and it was traumatizing. I’ll never forget it, but I’m also honored in a weird way.”

Joshua Bassett Goes Shirtless In 'Anyone Else' Music Video - Watch Now!

Joshua Bassett hops in the shower for part of his music video for his brand new song “Anyone Else“!

The 19-year-old musician and HSMTMTS star released his second original song on Thursday morning (July 16).

The music video was even directed by Joshua himself, and he also played guitar, bass, cajón and drums for the track, which he of course wrote.

“‘Anyone Else’ came about after the sudden realization that I was hopelessly falling in love with a close friend…who was in a relationship with someone else. ‘How am I supposed to think about anything else’ was the first lyric I wrote and then kinda back-pocketed the idea,” Joshua said about the song.

“After weeks of denial, in hopes that I’d move on and/or my feelings would subside, I had to finish the song and face the reality, ‘I am done pretending I want anyone else,’” he added.

Joshua Bassett Reveals What Stopped Him From Releasing 'Common Sense' Last Year

Joshua Bassett was ready to release his single “Common Sense” last November right before he signed a record deal!

The 19-year-old HSMTMTS actor and musician was stopped in his tracks when Warner expressed interest in signing him.

“It’s an interesting story that I haven’t told anyone. I was trying to release my song in November. I was ready to go. I had no label, I was like, ‘I’m just going to do it myself.’ So I recorded the song, I got it mixed, mastered, I got it all done. I got my friend to do the photo shoot,” Joshua explained on Build Series.

Joshua continued, “Then Warner came into the picture and we were like, ‘Maybe we don’t have to do this all right now.’ That pushed the release back a little bit while we figured that out. They came in at just the right time. It was pretty perfect. The team over there is incredible. It’s so nice to have a team I can trust with my career and music. They totally get it.”
