KJ Apa Reveals One Way Archie Could Pop Up on 'Riverdale' Spinoff 'Katy Keene'

When the newest Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene, was announced, it was revealed that the original show wouldn’t cross over with it seeing as its’ set five years in the future.

However, KJ Apa isn’t ruling out a possibility for Archie Andrews to pop up on the show, if picked up to series.

Chatting with Teen Vogue, KJ says Archie could pay a visit to Josie (Ashleigh Murray) in the city.

“Archie and Josie would have a meal somewhere and then probably walk around in awe of the city,” he proposed.

Katy Keene also stars Lucy Hale in the title role.

Riverdale will return with new eps next week on The CW.

Zane Holtz gets down on one knee and pops the question to Lucy Hale in a scene for their upcoming CW pilot Katy Keene on Friday (March 22) in New York City.

The co-stars filmed the proposal scene in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan.

Lucy is playing the title character in the show and Zane plays K.O. Kelly, Katy Keene’s boyfriend described as “a semi-pro boxer with an incredible body.”

Katy is described as “a twenty-something New Yorker who aspires to be a fashion designer. When she’s not working as a personal shopper at a luxury department store, she’s navigating friendship and dating in the big city.”

Katy Keene is a spinoff of the Riverdale franchise.

The cast of Katy Keene is gathering together in “New York City”!

Lucy Hale, who leads the cast as the title character, shared a photo on Instagram of the whole cast and crew getting together in Vancouver for the first day of production.

“KATY KEENE. Day 1 ❤️,” she captioned the pic.

Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and now Katy Keene, writer/director/creator extraordinaire Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also shared a pic from the first day.

“First day of shooting for #katykeene! Josie and Katy meet by the Little Red Lighthouse! 💃🏻👠🎭👛👗🎢,” he wrote.

The cast of Katy Keene includes Jonny Beauchamp, Julia Chan, Lucien Laviscount, Camille Hyde, Zane Holtz, and Nathan Lee Graham. Ashleigh Murray is bringing her character Josie from Riverdale to Katy Keene.

The title role in the upcoming The CW plot Katy Keene has been cast… and the role is going to Lucy Hale!

The 29-year-old actress previously worked with the network on the show Life Sentence.

The new pilot will follow four characters from the Archie Comics “as they chase their twenty-something dreams in New York City. The musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio,” according to Deadline.

Lucy‘s character Katy is described as “a twenty-something New Yorker who aspires to be a fashion designer. When she’s not working as a personal shopper at a luxury department store, she’s navigating friendship and dating in the big city.”

Ashleigh Murray is reprising her role of singer-songwriter Josie McCoy in the show.

Lucien Laviscount and Camille Hyde just joined the cast of Katy Keene!

Deadline reports that the two actors will star as siblings Alexander and Alexandra Cabot in the show, centering on the title character, and three iconic Archie Comics characters, including Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), as they chase their twentysomething dreams in New York City.

Camille will play Alexandra, a powerful, savvy and chic New York socialite who is an SVP at her father’s company. Both respected and feared, Alexandra is competitive with her brother, who has a very different vision for the record label.

Lucien is Alexander, the CEO of his father’s company who dreams of rebooting its dormant record label division, which attracts him to Josie. He’s cut from a different cloth than his billionaire family, as he’d rather take the subway and listen to vinyl, and he secretly DJs at a dive club.

The CW’s Riverdale spin-off series Katy Keene has landed two new cast members, Jonny Beauchamp and Julia Chan!

The actors have both snagged roles in the upcoming pilot alongside Riverdale‘s Ashleigh Murray.

The project hails from Riverdale creator/executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Directed by Maggie Kiley, Katy Keene follows “the lives and loves of four iconic Archie Comics characters — including fashion legend-to-be Katy Keene and singer-songwriter Josie McCoy (Murray) — as they chase their twentysomething dreams in New York City. The musical dramedy chronicles the origins and struggles of four aspiring artists trying to make it on Broadway, on the runway and in the recording studio,” Deadline reports.

Jonny will play Jorge/Ginger Lopez: “By day, Jorge works at his family’s bodega. By night, his drag alter ego Ginger bartends and performs at a local club. Jorge always has aspired to be a Broadway performer, but he’s now looking to take his drag career to the next level.”

Julia will portray Pepper Smith, “a New York City ‘It Girl’ who is at the epicenter of all things trendy. As the funny, magnetic life of the party, she dreams of opening her very own version of Andy Warhol’s Factory. But behind all the outrageous noise, no one quite knows where she gets all her money — or if she even has any.”
