In a recent interview, Keke opened up about the transition from child star to young adult star.
“You see some people want me to remain little Akeelah or people that see my videos they think that maybe I’m a little bit too sexy,” she shared. “Then you see people that say ‘you know I love seeing KeKe Palmer grow at this pace or I love KeKe’s acting image.’ When you’ve been on TV as long as I have, you have people that wanna keep you that child.”

“Just left the ‘Alex Cross’ premiere!! Literally had me JUMPING out of my seat, I love a good thriller! Check it out,” the 19-year-old actress/singer tweeted after watching the movie.
Based on the novel by James Patterson, the flick follows Washington DC detective Alex Cross (Tyler Perry) as he tracks down a killer (Matthew Fox) who murdered a family member. But he soon discovers that she was not the killer’s first victim and that things are not what they seem.

“Just as many people that love me, hate me too. I get really mean, mean, mean, mean comments on Twitter and it just comes with the territory,” the 19-year-old actress told The Huffington Post.
Keke adds, “Even though I’m in the industry and I act and all this stuff, I still suffer from self-esteem issues … from the way that I look or the way that I talk … just nitpicking at myself.”
The rally raised awareness about the issues facing young girls today.

The 19-year-old actress is gearing up for the premiere of her new Lifetime movie, Abducted: The Carlina White Story.
Based on a true story, the film tells the story of the kidnapping of Carlina White (Palmer), who was abducted as an infant by Ann Pettway (Aunjanue Ellis) from a New York hospital and solved her own kidnapping and reunited with her biological parents 23 years later.
The case was actually reported to be the first known infant abduction from a New York hospital and earlier this year, Pettway was sentenced in a New York court to 12 years in prison for kidnapping Carlina.
Abducted: The Carlina White Story premieres Saturday, October 6th @ 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime Television.
“The song has a very masculine feel to it, so I thought it was important to capture that visually in my dance moves and in the way that I look, yet still finding a way to be feminine. It’s me chasing this guy who isn’t totally feeling me, so it’s kind of like I’m trying to feel him out and show him how I am to get him to come dance with me,” Keke recently said of the vid.
