Keke Palmer hits the carpet at the History Channel’s Pre-Emmy Party held at Soho House on Saturday night (September 22) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 19-year-old actress is gearing up for the premiere of her new Lifetime movie, Abducted: The Carlina White Story.
Based on a true story, the film tells the story of the kidnapping of Carlina White (Palmer), who was abducted as an infant by Ann Pettway (Aunjanue Ellis) from a New York hospital and solved her own kidnapping and reunited with her biological parents 23 years later.
The case was actually reported to be the first known infant abduction from a New York hospital and earlier this year, Pettway was sentenced in a New York court to 12 years in prison for kidnapping Carlina.
Abducted: The Carlina White Story premieres Saturday, October 6th @ 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime Television.
“The song has a very masculine feel to it, so I thought it was important to capture that visually in my dance moves and in the way that I look, yet still finding a way to be feminine. It’s me chasing this guy who isn’t totally feeling me, so it’s kind of like I’m trying to feel him out and show him how I am to get him to come dance with me,” Keke recently said of the vid.

The 18-year-old actress/singer will be dropping her new tune on MONDAY, August 27th on all digital platforms.
“The song is saying I’m trying to get this guy, I don’t want to dance alone, come dance with me. It has a bit of an influence of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ by Michael Jackson. The song has a very masculine feel to it, so I thought it was important to capture that visually in my dance moves and in the way that I look, yet still finding a way to be feminine. It’s me chasing this guy who isn’t totally feeling me, so it’s kind of like I’m trying to feel him out and show him how I am to get him to come dance with me,” Keke shared.
Keke will also be starring in Lifetime’s Abducted: The Carlina White Story.
The film is based on the true story of Carlina White, a woman who solved her own kidnapping mystery and found her birth parents after being separated for over 20 years.
In a recent interview with BoomBox, Keke opened up about her musical inspirations.
“Brandy, Aaliyah, TLC, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson. Brandy‘s first album and Full Moon [album]. She represented every young girl. I think that’s special. That’s what I want to do. We don’t have anybody in R&B music that does that today, and really represent what girls are going through and be that voice for them and really be able to speak to them through music,” she shared.
