Kelsea Ballerini Sings 'Silent Night' With Husband Morgan Evans

What do you do on Christmas when you and your significant other are both musicians? Perform a Christmas duet, obviously!

That’s exactly what newlyweds Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans did, and they shared it with all of us, via Instagram.

“the best way to spread Christmas cheer… @morganevansmusic,” Kelsea captioned the video on her account.

Looks like Kelsea was taking a little break from doing some Christmas cooking or baking as she was wearing an apron in the video.

The country music singers tied the knot in Mexico on the beach earlier this month.

There's A Special Meaning Behind Kelsea Ballerini & Morgan Evans's First Wedding Dance Song

Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans have opened up about their south of the border wedding with People mag.

In the fun feature, the newlyweds shared a heartwarming tidbit about their first dance and just how special it was to them.

Kelsea and Morgan danced to Christina Perri‘s “A Thousand Years” and recalled just how special the song was to them.

“Soon after we met and we were dating, I had this little balcony at this little apartment that I was in at the time; we were out there having dinner and were like, ‘Let’s play our favorite love songs,’” Kelsea says.

“For three hours we passed the Bluetooth speaker back and forth and played love songs, and it ended with ‘A Thousand Years.’”

Kelsea adds, “I think it was kind of our way really early on to be like, ‘I think I love you.’ But that moment at the end was special so, that’s our full circle I guess.”

The Title Of Kelsea Ballerini's Album 'Unapologetically' Has a Double Meaning To Her

The Title Of Kelsea Ballerini's Album 'Unapologetically' Has a Double Meaning To Her

When Kelsea Ballerini first started writing her new album, Unapologetically, she didn’t expect the title track to turn out to be a love song.

“I loved the sentiment of the second album title,” the country starlet revealed in a new interview with The Independent. “I thought the title track was gonna be some big girl power anthem, and it ended up being a love song!”

Kelsea continues, “It’s a song about literally just being ‘I don’t care if this doesn’t work, I don’t care what people are gonna say about it… it’s right for me’.

After it turned into a love song, the album title took on a double meaning for her.

“There’s something really freeing about not caring, and that’s the heart of the record. It’s vulnerable but there’s strength in that,” she adds. “I learned over the last few years to be that way, be unapologetic about who I am as an artist.”

Kelsea also spoke about how her country pop sound gets mixed reviews from country purists.

“I get comments about it a lot,” she says. “But I think it’s a really cool eclectic time in country music, you can hear Little Big Town who are folk country, Chris Stapleton – soul country, Sam Hunt who’s R&B country, me who’s pop country… You can hear the influences we listen to. I grew up on a farm in east Tennessee and my first concert was Britney Spears, that’s my music.”

“Attitudes are changing, and radio’s been really good to me, Maren [Morris], RaeLynn, Lauren Alaina… this new class of women that I’m in. We all have influences that are outside of country and you can hear it.”

Kelsea Ballerini Wants You To Know That Failure Isn't Always A Bad Thing

Kelsea Ballerini Wants You To Know That Failure Isn't Always A Bad Thing

Speaking with Health magazine recently, Kelsea opened up about some life lessons she’s learned so far and her biggest one is how failure isn’t always the worst thing in the world.

“Failure is so important. I feel like failure can reroute your life,” she shared.

“It sounds silly,” Kelsea added, “but in eighth grade I was one of two girls who didn’t make the cheerleading squad. And you know what? That was the year I picked up a guitar and wrote a song. So failure is what keeps you on your path. It also gives you a pause to breathe before something great happens.”

Kelsea Ballerini Was Part of the Glee Club in High School

Kelsea Ballerini Was Part of the Glee Club in High School

Kelsea Ballerini has an affection for Peter Pan – both the book, the character, and her own song.

Turns out though that her connection to “Peter Pan” started long before her song of the same name — she actually starred in the play!

“I was part of glee club. So we did like Guys and Dolls and Peter Pan,” she shared in a video interview.

Kelsea adds, “I was the ostrich in Peter Pan. I think it was a pity role, I don’t think it actually existed and know my director wrote it in for me.”

While Kelsea thinks it was a pity role, the musical play actually does feature the Never Ostrich, who appears at the beginning of Act II.
