'Zac & Mia' Stars Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Reveal Their Favorite Scenes Ahead of Season Finale (Exclusive)

Zac and Mia is about to get really real, really fast on tomorrow’s season finale of the show — and JJJ has the first sneak peek!

In the final episode, as Mia begins to wrap her head around her new situation, Zac receives clarity on his Make A Wish.

The scene you’ll watch below is extremely hard hitting, but it’s not Kian Lawley or Anne Winters‘s favorite scenes that they filmed.

Speaking with JJJ, Anne revealed that the scene “where Kian sings me a song” is one of the ones she loved the most.

“You liked it, I didn’t,” Kian chimed in. “It was so embarrassing. I got hot, I got anxious. I was really nervous.”

Anne adds, “See, that’s so cute. It’s stuff like that, that makes it so real on set. It was such a cute moment. Even in the table read, and he was reading the song out loud, it was still such a cute and great moment. Everyone was smiling about it.”

Watch the sneak peek below and tune in for the season finale, premiering TOMORROW on go90.

Anne Winters & Kian Lawley's 'Zac & Mia' Renewed For Second Season!

Great news for Zac & Mia fans – season two is on it’s way!!

It was announced this morning that the go90 show is officially in production, according to Deadline.

The show, which stars YouTuber Kian Lawley and Anne Winters, began filming season two just one week after the show premiered earlier this month.

“CAN FINALLY ANNOUNCE SEASON 2,” Anne shared on Instagram in excitement.

Season two will see Zac as he “is excited to get his old life back, while Mia wrestles with hopelessness about her uncertain future and condition. As a couple, they’re now forced to navigate their budding relationship out in the real world, unprotected by the walls of the hospital.”

The stars recently spoke with JJJ about not having a connection to cancer prior to the show. Check it out here!

'Zac & Mia' Stars Anne Winters & Kian Lawley Talk About Not Having A Connection To Cancer Before The Show

'Zac & Mia' Stars Anne Winters & Kian Lawley Talk About Not Having A Connection To Cancer Before The Show

There are so many people who are closely affected by cancer on the planet — whether it’s a close family member, friend, or even yourself.

While speaking with Zac & Mia‘s Anne Winters and Kian Lawley, JJJ found out that they both had almost no one in their own families who were affected by the horrible disease.

“My grandma had breast cancer, but it went away really fast,” Anne shared with us. “She got diagnosed and had surgery and then it was gone. Other than that, I haven’t really gone through it personally, having someone really close to me battle cancer.”

While Kian‘s connection to the disease was zero, he did feel like he experienced a similar battle with his own grandma.

“I’ve had no one in my family or close friends have cancer. My grandma had emphysema,” he explains. “I know it’s not cancer, but I feel like I got to know a battle like cancer, and got to unfortunately witness it first hand. I would go visit her at the hospital and she was bedridden. It was hard.”

However, not having a closer experience with cancer first hand, didn’t stop Anne or Kian from connecting with their characters.

“I feel like hearing anyone’s story though…I know that family and friends are a lot closer to you, but I’m not going to lie,” Anne shares. “When we were at the Mattel hospital listening to their stories and details and we were asking them so many questions…when you really get to know their lives it’s so hard hitting. It can be anyone and it will hit you hard.”

'Zac & Mia's Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Open Up About Relating to Their Characters (Exclusive)

'Zac & Mia's Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Open Up About Relating to Their Characters (Exclusive)

There are two new episodes of go90′s Zac & Mia coming up this week and JJJ has the exclusive scoop from Kian Lawley and Anne Winters on just how much they related to their characters.

For Anne it was an emotional connection.

“If I found out something like that intense about having cancer, I might actually do the same thing she did and really try and deny it,” Anne tells us. “She’s this normal girl, in high school…I think the vanity and the realization that you are in a position where you are vulnerable where you can’t do things alone is a thing I would battle with.”

For Kian, it was more about the family on screen.

“With Zac, he’s very family oriented and they come and visit him and that is his main source of support and comfortability,” Kian shared. “That’s how I relate to him the closest.”

Kian also admits that he’d be exactly like Zac in how he approached his cancer diagnosis.

“He got to be really statistical about all of his cancer and was well aware of what he was going through,” he shared. “He had all these odds and numbers and I think I would do the same to see my chances of survival, just to make myself more comfortable in knowledge.”

In tomorrow’s episode, “Thera-Flu”, Zac suffers the unfortunate consequences of his recent impulsive decision, and Mia opens up to a new confidante.

You can stream Zac & Mia for free on Verizon’s go90 app or watch on go90.com. There are new episodes are released every Tuesday and Thursday.

Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Chat About 'Zac & Mia's Emotional Impact On Them (Exclusive)

Kian Lawley & Anne Winters Chat About 'Zac & Mia's Emotional Impact On Them (Exclusive)

Kian Lawley and Anne Winters star as the title characters in AwesomenessTV’s new series, Zac & Mia, available now go90.

Speaking with them earlier this week, JJJ got to learn that the actors did their research by visiting a children’s hospital — but even that didn’t prepare them for the emotions that they were about to face.

“We did a lot of research with the book and also did a lot of external research too,” Kian shared. “We needed to nail these roles, we needed to do it justice.”

Anne adds, “I think the biggest part was when we actually went to the Mattel Children’s Hospital and met up with these young cancer patients and ask them everything we had questions about. From the moment they got diagnosed to how it is to leave a normal life behind. Everything we had questions on they answered.”

There was one patient in particular that hit them extremely hard.

“There was this really young girl there and I think she was the youngest we met,” Anne remembers. “She was in tears the entire time just telling her story to us and just hearing this 13-year-old girl who doesn’t get to have that normal life, to talk about her cancer story in such a grown up way and still in a grown up way, that was one of the most hard-hitting things to hear.

“She was there with her dad and you could tell how hard it was,” Kian chimes in. “She was so vulnerable at such a young age that she didn’t know this was coming her way and then, took it like a champ and was able to open up and talk about it regardless of her crying and her feelings.”

“It was sad seeing her talk about it front of her dad. Not only does she have to go through it, but he was going through it with her and it was sad to see it happen at such a young age.”

While Anne and Kian‘s visit to the hospital helped, there were even more emotions they weren’t prepared for while filming.

“Our visit to the hospital helped with the emotions we went through,” Kian says. “We got a good judgement on what you think you’re going to go through, but it ultimately comes down to what you’re feeling on set at that time too. I think those emotions came out more than we thought. They just poured out like Niagara Falls.

Anne adds, “It’s exactly like Niagara Falls. The main thing is that you really can’t prepare for anything that happens on set. You can do as much research that you can and want, but at the end of the day, when you get on set and you’re acting with another person there beside you, there are so many different things that happen.”

You can stream Zac & Mia for free on Verizon’s go90 app or watch on go90.com. There are new episodes are released every Tuesday and Thursday.

The 'Zac & Mia' Official Trailer Will Make You Cry Like A Baby

The 'Zac & Mia' Official Trailer Will Make You Cry Like A Baby

The official trailer for Zac & Mia is here and it’s about to make you cry and feel things like you haven’t ever felt before.

The new show, which will premiere on go90 TOMORROW, centers on the title characters, who, in the real world, would have had little to say to each other, but in the hospital, where they’re both being treated for cancer, the usual rules don’t apply.

Zac and Mia’s exchanges through their shared wall evolve into a bond that neither sees coming. If cancer is the variable that changed everything, the only constant is their ever-deepening need for one another.

Kian Lawley and Anne Winters star in the series. Check out the trailer below!
