KJ Apa Didn't Tell Anyone That He Broke His Hand In The 'Riverdale' Season Finale

KJ Apa Didn't Tell Anyone That He Broke His Hand In The 'Riverdale' Season Finale

We all know that KJ Apa‘s hand injury was actually real and he did indeed break his hand while filming Riverdale‘s season finale.

What we didn’t know is that he didn’t tell anyone he did!

“That was a gnarly day of shooting, I’ll tell you that much,” KJ shared with TVLine about the scenes on the frozen lake, where he was pounding on ice to get Cheryl out of the water.

He adds, “I wasn’t really punching the ice, but I got a little bit too excited. I was punching a foam mat…[that was] sitting on the ice. It was cold, so I didn’t really feel it.”

He actually didn’t even realize his hand was actually broken, either: “It wasn’t until 20 minutes after that I realized I broke my hand. I didn’t tell anyone.”

Lili Reinhart is Acknowledging KJ Apa's Birthday Today in the Best Way

It’s Riverdale star KJ Apa‘s 20th birthday today (happy birthday KJ!) and his co-star Lili Reinhart 1,000 percent wins the day with her hilarious well-wishes.

We already know these two are tight from the adorable pics they posted at the Wizard World Comic Con, but then again the entire cast seems super close.

Lili uploaded three videos (so far!) to Twitter to embarrass KJ.

“Happy birthday to the guy who always steals my phone and does sh-t like this. But I love you for it,” she writes on the first one, accompanied by a video of KJ making absurd faces.

In the second video, KJ is vigorously flossing his teeth and in the third he is making an honestly alarming Joker-esque face that is sort of impressive and sort of terrifying.

KJ Apa Had a Fan Refer to Him by His 'Riverdale' Nickname at a Chipotle

Riverdale actress Lili Reinhart has hilarious anecdotes about interactions with fans who recognize her in her day-to-day life — and as it turns out, the actor who plays Archie, KJ Apa, does as well.

“The girl at chipotle just called me archiekins,” he tweeted yesterday (June 13) much to his fans’ delight. The tweet has amassed over 60,000 likes.

Veronica (Camila Mendes) calls her sort-of-sometimes boyfriend Archie “Archiekins” throughout season 1 of Riverdale, so we are dying that a Chipotle worker used the affectionate nickname.

His followers on Twitter have only one question — does her prefer Archiekins or “Daddy”?? (Read all about the Daddy Wars here: it’s a doozie.)

'Riverdale' Star KJ Apa Has a Chronic Instagram Photobomber

'Riverdale' Star KJ Apa Has a Chronic Instagram Photobomber

Riverdale star KJ Apa absolutely fell in love with Paris this past week. He also took to Instagram to document his travels, highlighting one, uh, photo-bomber in particular.

A shaggy blonde guy is skulking around in all of KJ‘s recent Instagrams, popping in the back of photos and staring at the camera behind groups of fans posing.

Thankfully, we don’t have a code red Blossom twins mystery on our hands. Said stalker in question is his friend, Nick Voroshine, and it is 100 percent an inside joke.

There are now fan accounts for Nick, MTV reports, though some strongly suspect KJ himself runs them.

We can’t lie: the pictures are super funny.

KJ Apa Has Fallen Head Over Heels In Love With Paris

It’s hard to resist the allure of Paris even if you are Riverdale star KJ Apa.

After taking part in the MCM Comic-Con in London, the actor and his pal headed to Paris and the City of Lights completely stole his heart.

“Oui! Oui! Oui! I’ve only been here 30 mins and Paris is the best place I have ever been,” he wrote on Twitter, adding just moments later, “Moving to Paris.”

Looks like KJ is definitely taken now!

“Paris. I don’t even know where to start with you. I love you. I need you in my life. I am going to live in you one day. I can’t believe it,” KJ continued to profess his love.

How sick are you guys! Love Paris from me and @snozairlines

KJ Apa Reveals There Was An Entirely Different Ending For 'Riverdale's Finale

KJ Apa Reveals There Was An Entirely Different Ending For 'Riverdale's Finale

Wait up just one second — KJ Apa just revealed that the ending for Riverdale‘s first season that we saw, was an alternate ending!

The actor, who plays Archie Andrews in the series, spilled the details last weekend at the MCM Comic-Con in London.

As we all know, Fred (Luke Perry) was shot in the season finale as gunmen came into the diner while Archie washed his hands and he returned in just enough time to see the shot go off.

“We had a completely different ending while we were shooting,” KJ shared. “Only me and Luke got sent the ending the night before we shot that scene.”

He adds, “No one else actually knew about it except for us at that time.”

So, what was the original ending? KJ kind of kept mum on that part, only that it had “something to do with the Blossoms” — obviously.

KJ also previewed what life would be like for Archie in season two.

“I’m really excited to explore a different side of Archie that we haven’t really seen yet, a darker side after Fred gets shot,” he said. “It kinda shakes things up for him for sure. Things start to get pretty gnarly.”

Riverdale season two is set to start filming in late June.

KJ Apa's 'Riverdale' Audition Wasn't A Typical Audition

KJ Apa's 'Riverdale' Audition Wasn't A Typical Audition

When KJ Apa auditioned for Riverdale, he did something that not a lot of people would actually do — he played a song.

“I don’t know if it was essential that the character needed to play the guitar or be somewhat musical,” the New Zealand-born actor shared in a recent interview about going out for Archie. “But it was scripted in the pilot that he likes to write music and stuff.”

KJ continues, “I remember in the screen test I took my guitar and just casually walked in. I told them I was going to play them a song before I did the scene. They didn’t really have a choice and I just did it. (laughs)”

He adds, “I knew it was something that they would like to see.”

We’re thinking this is something that definitely won him the role.

If you missed the news, KJ will actually be honored with the Breakthrough Performance Award at the Saturn Awards this year.

He and Riverdale are also up for a few other awards as well!
