The 19-year-old actress took home “Best Rising Star” at WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival for her film A Sort Of Homecoming, which also won a Gold Award for Best Dramatic Feature Film.
“I am so honored and ecstatic to be winning this award!” Laura told JJJ in an exclusive statement. “I had such a lovely experience on A Sort of Homecoming, and I’m so happy people connected with the material the way I did!”
A Sort of Homecoming tells the story of Amy, a New York news producer who thought she left her high school experiences long in the past. She unexpectedly returns to Louisiana at the request of her high school debate coach and their strained reunion brings back memories of her tumultuous senior year of high school.

The 19-year-old Austin & Ally actress and singer will be lending her voice to the show on tomorrow’s episode (April 20) on Disney XD.
Here are the summaries for both eps:
– “Wonkin’ for the Weekend” – Randy and Howard are forced to go to Saturday school, and Howard discovers that he is a genius on the weekends. Randy uses Howard’s new smarts to figure out a way to get them out of going to Saturday school.
– “Ninjafan” – Ninja decides to spend the day with Rachel (Marano), his biggest fan, after she performs a sweet song she wrote for him. But he ends up taking her for granted and turns her against him.
Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja airs Monday, April 20th at 8:30 PM ET/PT.
