Lauren Conrad goes metallic in this new shot from her November 2012 cover story for Allure magazine.
The 26-year-old author/designer, wearing a Michael Kors bikini and LC Lauren Conrad for Kohls blazer, opened about haters and dating in the city. Check it:
On the non-fans: “People felt that a lot of the things I had were undeserved, maybe because I didn’t have a specific talent; I was more of a regular girl and maybe didn’t deserve the attention. I think anyone in the public eye is going to be hated, and a lesson that I needed to learn quickly is that it is impossible to please everybody. One person will call you classy, and another will call you boring.”
On dating in Los Angeles: “You don’t want a slob, but you don’t want a guy whose constantly borrowing your tweezers…the last year and a half, I was dating a lot, and it’s slim pickings.”

In the book, as the drama surrounding Madison, Carmen, Gaby, and Kate is played out in front of the cameras and the relentless paparazzi, the girls quickly discover that fame comes at a price.
Lauren, 26, dished about her own fame moments in this exclusive video.
She shared, “My first experience with fame was years and years and years ago when Laguna Beach just aired. I was about 18 and went to a basketball game with a bunch of my friends. A couple of the guys I was with had filmed the first show with me. One of the girls sitting near us got really excited when she saw some of the guys I was with and she had to pull out her inhaler.”

Lauren Conrad tries out a bold red lip as she arrives at the 2012 Design For The Cure Gala held at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday evening (October 13).
The “pink-tie” gala brought together the world of fashion, celebrities and cancer survivors for an evening of live entertainment, dinner and a fabulous silent auction featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences.
“Breast cancer is such a serious issue, especially facing young women in the Los Angeles area, and it is a cause dear to my heart,” Lauren shared in a statement. “I am honored to be a part of this event and am thrilled to partner with such a wonderful foundation like Susan G. Komen.”
The event raised monies to impact women who are battling breast cancer in Los Angeles County as well as providing desperately needed funding for research, mammograms and other diagnostic and treatment services.
FYI: Lauren wore a Paper Crown dress with a Dana Rebecca Designs bracelet.
JJJ got our hands on an exclusive sneak peek of the 26-year-old author/entrepreneur’s cover story where she chatted about her time on reality TV and The Hills.
“I think the story they told wasn’t a dishonest one. The way they did it sometimes was. They aren’t going to be there for everything. Sometimes two of their main characters will get into a fight, and that’s important to the story line,” Lauren shared about The Hills. “The [producers] need that reenacted. Their things was always: It did happen. They’re not making this up: you just didn’t see it.”
Lauren added, “Brody [Jenner] and I did date. It was pretty brief. There was definitely editing to drag it out.”
