Fans of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Cami (Leah Pipes) got quite the tease on Monday night’s (May 11) season finale of The Originals.

She confessed that she has “complicated feelings for a monster” and they nearly kissed at the end of the episode!

“I honestly think that Cami looks at him with just as much sympathy as she does any legitimate romantic affection,” EP Michael Narducci told EW. “Sometimes some people have an instinctive need to help people, and I think if you’re someone who goes to graduate school to be a psychologist, you’re one of those people that has a desire to try and help and fix people, even when you know that maybe it’s a lost cause. I think that there is a very interesting connection that these people have, the two wounded souls.”

He added, “But right now, I think it would be premature to have them each dive bomb into some kind of hurried romantic relationship. I think first Cami wants to see if she can get him to explore other sides of himself. And for Klaus, I think he knows that if he were to become a good person, that would only put the people he cares about most in danger because he protects them best when he is his savage self. That’s not going to change because there are a lot of people out there who hate the Mikaelsons and there are a lot of enemies. So it’s going to be a hard time for Klaus to change.”

Cami (Leah Pipes) gushes over baby Hope in Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) arms in this sweet new still from The Originals.

In “Gonna Set Your Flag On Fire”, with Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) on the loose and hell bent on revenge, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) brings Cami to the safe house as he and Hayley return to the compound.

Hayley and Jackson (Nathan Parsons) devise a plan to bring the vampires and werewolves together to consider a truce, but tensions grow when Vincent places a spell on the compound, trapping the two sides together.

Meanwhile, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) grows concerned when Rebekah (Claire Holt) fails to show up at the safe house, prompting Klaus to confront Kaleb (ganiel Sharman) for answers.

As the Mikaelson family drama continues to unfold, Cami (Leah Pipes) not only finds herself in the middle of it, but she’s now volunteering her help!

JJJ caught up with Leah, who of course plays New Orleans’ resident badass human, to get the scoop on what we can expect in the next few episodes.

Is Cami in serious danger? And with everything going on, is romance in the French Quarter a lost cause? Check it:

JustJaredJr: We heard Cami mention it last week briefly, but what are her main motivations behind wanting to help take down Finn? Is it guilt about Klaus’ baby or is it something else?

Leah Pipes: It’s kind of a family legacy that she feels is her duty to take up. She realizes she has the power to make sure justice is served in New Orleans, and if she walks away from that power, she may regret it and look back and go, “I could have helped my friends and I was a coward not to.” So it’s her honor and sense of duty that’s keeping her around, and wanting to take care of Finn.

Cami’s guilt for Klaus’ baby not being alive is one example of why she needs to do this, but who knows how many people will die if she doesn’t fight the good fight. She has an arsenal of weapons and so much information, and if she leaves it, it can end up in the wrong hands. And that’s on her.

Davina (Danielle Campbell) gets a creepy tour of a 1914 laboratory in this new still from The Originals.

In “Chasing The Devil’s Tail”, when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) discovers that Elijah (Daniel Gillies) has been afflicted by Esther’s (Sonja Sohn) magic, he heads to the bayou in search of an antidote, but quickly realizes he’s not alone.

Armed with intel gathered by Aiden (Colin Woodell), Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) teams up with him, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), Cami (Leah Pipes) and Josh (Steven Kruger) and launches a plan to take down Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) by exploiting his one weakness.

Meanwhile, Vincent and Kaleb (Daniel Sharman) are forced to reconsider their own strategies. Intrigued by Davina’s unwavering attempts to create an unlinking spell, Kaleb lets her in on some secrets from his past and brings her to a place he frequented in 1914.

In tonight’s episode “Wheel Inside The Wheel”, Fed up with her antics, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) becomes agitated and demands that Esther (Sonja Sohn) release Elijah (Daniel Gillies), whom she has captured. However, Esther reveals a few dark secrets from Klaus’ past in an attempt to make him an offer he can’t refuse.

Meanwhile, Oliver (Chase Coleman) ends up in a dangerous situation, prompting Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to reconnect with Jackson (Nathan Parsons), who has been living a new life out in the bayou.

Elsewhere, Cami, who still believes baby Hope’s death was her fault, teams up with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Gia (Nishi Munshi) after she becomes suspicious of her faculty advisor Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood).
