'Mira, Royal Detective' Premieres Season 2 On April 5th, Lilly Singh Among Guest Stars!

Mira, Royal Detective will be returning NEXT WEEK for the show’s upcoming second season!

The Disney Junior series, follows the brave and resourceful Mira, a young girl who travels throughout the fictional land of Jalpur solving mysteries for her friends, family and extended community, premieres on Monday, April 5th at 5pm ET/PT.

Season two will include an episode highlighting the Eid al-Fitr holiday, and episodes celebrating the festivals of Teej and Dasara, as well as four extended-length music- and dance-filled specials.

In the Eid al-Fitr episode titled “The Eid Mystery,” Mira’s friend Sadia asks for her help in solving the case when they find a lost holiday eidi gift envelope on the ground. Recurring cast member Rizwan Manji stars alongside his real-life daughter, Ayana Manji as Mr. Khan and his daughter Sadia. Zehra Fazal and Kausar Mohammed also guest star. It will air on Monday, May 3rd at 5pm ET/PT.

Mira, Royal Detective stars the voices of Leela Ladnier (Mira), Freida Pinto, Kal Penn, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Hannah Simone, Jameela Jamil, Aparna Nancherla and Aasif Mandvi. Recurring guest stars include Danny Pudi, Kunal Nayyar, Hari Kondabolu, Karen David and Aarti Sequeira.

Season two guest stars include Lilly Singh, Ritesh Rajan, Aly Mawji, Tiya Sircar, Usman Ally and world-renowned musician Zakir Hussain.

Mira, Royal Detective's Leela Ladnier Shares 10 Fun Facts & Dishes On Upcoming Diwali Episode (Exclusive)

We’re getting to know the star of Mira, Royal Detective, Leela Ladnier with 10 Fun Facts and more!

The 17-year-old voices the titular character Mira in the Disney Junior series, which is inspired by the cultures and customs of India.

Leela opened up with JJJ about with us about voicing Mira, and she dished on the new episode which revolves around Diwali, which is a five-day festival of lights, celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. It’s a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness, and for some, coincides with harvest and new year celebrations.

In the upcoming episode, “The Great Diwali Mystery,” Mira must track down the missing oil used to light traditional lamps throughout the town in order to save the Diwali celebration.

“Mira and her friends solve an exciting case as they learn more about how special Diwali is and learn how important it is to cherish family and friends,” Leela told JJJ. “The episode is one of my favorites, because it portrays the bright colors, beautiful music, and amazing traditions of Indian culture!”

Karan Brar Premieres New Disney Junior Series 'Mira, Royal Detective'

Karan Brar steps out for the premiere of his new show Mira, Royal Detective held at The Walt Disney Studios on Saturday (March 7) in Burbank, Calif.

The 21-year-old actor was joined by co-stars Leela Ladnier and Avantika Vandanapu, who you may recognize from Diary of a Future President.

The three are just a few of many South Asian actors who voice characters in the show, which is inspired by the cultures and customs of India.

Also in attendance were co-stars Freida Pinto, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Maulik Pancholy, Karan Soni, Karen David, Roshni Edwards, Kamran Lucas, Rizwan Manji, Parvesh Cheena, Sonal Shah, Hari Kondabolu, Iqbal Theba, and Julian Zane.

Set in the magical Indian-inspired land of Jalpur, the series introduces a brave and resourceful girl named Mira, a commoner who is appointed to the role of royal detective by the queen. The series centers on Mira, who, along with her friend Prince Neel, creative cousin Priya, and comical mongoose sidekicks Mikku and Chikku, set out on mystery-solving adventures that highlight critical thinking and encourage deductive reasoning for young viewers.

A second season has already been picked up, and the show hasn’t even started airing yet!

Mira, Royal Detective premieres Friday, March 20th, at 11am EDT on Disney Channel and at 7pm EDT on Disney Junior.
