Lili Reinhart Says Kissing Scenes on 'Riverdale' Are 'Easy': 'We're All Friends'

Lili Reinhart Says Kissing Scenes on 'Riverdale' Are 'Easy': 'We're All Friends'

Lili Reinhart hasn’t confirmed that she is dating Cole Sprouse IRL despite the rumor mill — but she does admit that it isn’t awkward kissing him on-screen.

“I feel like it’s very comfortable at this point,” she told Entertainment Tonight in a new interview. “I mean, it’s The CW you’re not going to get too crazy. It’s just like kissing and hugging.”

“I think we’re all so comfortable with one another that it’s not even really a thing,” the 21-year-old actress continued. “If we have a kissing scene, it’s fine. We don’t really think twice about it. When new characters have to kiss, it’s a little different and you’re like, ‘Oh, OK! What this?’”

“But it’s easy, we’re all friends. It would be more nerve-wracking if you had to make out with someone that you didn’t know. So if by chance we do end up having to kiss each other, it’s fine and it doesn’t feel weird.”

As for Cole, the most she would say is: “We get along quite well.”

Lili Reinhart Says Betty Turns Into a 'Badass' When This Happens on 'Riverdale'

Ahead of the season premiere, Lili Reinhart teased that we would be seeing a new kind of Dark Betty arrive on the show — and she showed up last night.

Speaking with EW after the episode, the actress opened up about how her threats to Cheryl, defending her friends are a part of that new Dark Betty persona.

“I feel like when it comes to defending Jughead or defending people she really cares about, she kind of turns into a little bit of a badass because she has to be sometimes,” Lili shared. “[Betty] would have done the same for Veronica, or Kevin, or Archie.”

She adds, “I think people really respond and love seeing that little side of her that’s not the typical Betty.

“It’s darker and a little more — I wouldn’t say ‘stone cold bitch’ [which Cheryl called her on the show last night] — but a little more assertive, you know?”

Cole Sprouse Shares New Pics of Lili Reinhart on Instagram

There’s no denying that Cole Sprouse is a really talented photographer, and his latest images with co-star Lili Reinhart prove it even more.

The Riverdale star shared one image of Lili on his account yesterday, with her looking like a Renaissance painting and the caption “410″ — which sent some fans into a frenzy of finding out what it exactly meant.

One speculated that it was the date in reverse – 4/10 = October 4th, and could easily mean that it’s the date they took the photos, or something else entirely.

On Lili‘s account, she shared even more images from their photo shoot, captioning them “You go first”.

Riverdale's Lili Reinhart Relates To Her Character Betty Cooper In These Ways

Riverdale's Lili Reinhart Relates To Her Character Betty Cooper In These Ways

Lili Reinhart might not be Riverdale‘s Betty Cooper off the screen, however, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t relate to her at all.

In fact, she is the most like Betty Cooper out of all the characters.

“I think we’re all like our characters,” she told Coveteur recently. “Camila is very much like Veronica, and KJ’s a lot like Archie.”

Lili adds that of all the qualities Betty has, she really relates to her leadership.

“I was always the one in school who wanted to be the leader of the group and in charge of all the group projects, and I feel like that is the epitome of Betty,” Lili says. “I also relate to how much love she has. I wear my heart on my sleeve, I’m very loving, a romantic, and I think Betty is very much that as well.”

“That’s how I relate to her the most—in the sense that I have a big heart and I know that Betty does, too.”

“Right now, Ashley Graham,” Lili answered. “Obsessed with her. Honestly, I’ve never been so inspired by a celebrity or by someone that I didn’t know. She’s so confident and so stunning and her way of body acceptance and talking about her body and women’s bodies in general is so inspiring to me, and I’ve honestly never been inspired by someone as much as her as an adult.”

Lili also dished on her biggest pet peeve.

“I have so many of them,” she shared. “I think people who get super-confused at really simple situations. People who are like, ‘Wait, what are you talking about?’ They ask, ‘What?’ before you’re even finished explaining something. And it’s like, ‘Will you calm down?’”

Lili also revealed that her first album was the The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack (“Surprisingly at 21, I do sing songs from it still today.”), her biggest fear is spiders, she’s addicted to sugar, her go-to comfort food is Chipotle, and her most-used emoji is the OK hand!

Lili Reinhart's Favorite Bughead Scene Will Give You All The Feels

Lili Reinhart's Favorite Bughead Scene Will Give You All The Feels

If you asked us our favorite scene between Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones, aka Bughead, on Riverdale, we’d say all of them… just because they’re Bughead.

However, Lili Reinhart has one specific scene that she loves the most.

“Probably the ‘I love you’ scene in the Season 1 finale,” she told Buzzfeed. “It was just so beautifully written and so honest, and when he takes his hat off, it’s just like, ‘Aww.’”

She continues, “It’s just a very earnest moment between the two of them. They didn’t really have to think about it. Well, Jughead maybe had to think about it. Like, ‘Do I love her? Am I in love?’ Because he’s never experienced something like that before, and maybe he’s not necessarily used to being around a woman that he loves because his mom’s not really in the picture…”

“So for him it was a much bigger deal, but for Betty it was immediately like, ‘I love you too’ — it wasn’t even a second thought,” Lili adds. “She knew deep down that she loved him. She didn’t even have to process it or think about it. As soon as she said the words, it was out there and it was true. It was just a really sweet moment.”

Lili Reinhart Shares Her Own Sexual Harassment Story on Tumblr

Lili Reinhart Shares Her Own Sexual Harassment Story on Tumblr

In light of the Harvey Weinstein scandal that’s all over right now, Lili Reinhart is bravely opening up about her own sexual harassment story.

In a new post on Tumblr, the Riverdale star described a time when she was left feeling “completely violated” by an older male colleague who tried to take things further than she wanted while they were on a date.

“In light of the Harvey Weinstein allegations…I feel the need to share a story of my own personal experience where a man in a position of power over me, used that said power to try and take advantage of me,” she wrote. “I’m not comfortable giving specific details about the situation because I don’t feel it’s necessary. All that matters is that he tried to force himself on me when we were on a date.”

Lili continues, “I had to stop him and say ‘No, I don’t want that,’ and ‘I can’t do that.’ I physically walked away from the situation before it could get any worse. I remember feeling like this was a scene right out of a horror movie.”

She went on to describe the entire situation and how this older male had made it seem like her fault — and it definitely was not her fault.

“I stand with them. I believe them,” she says of the countless women coming forward in the industry. “I believe in standing up for yourself as a woman and coming forward about sexual harassment.

“I’m coming forward about my own experience to further express how common these assaults are in this industry and how important it is that we take action to fight against it,” Lili adds.

Lili Reinhart Says Betty Will Let Her 'Dark Side' Live a Bit in 'Riverdale' Season 2

Lili Reinhart Says Betty Will Let Her 'Dark Side' Live a Bit in 'Riverdale' Season 2

Dark Betty was one of the major moments of Riverdale‘s first season…and she’s going to come back in season two, just in a different way.

Lili Reinhart told Teen Vogue that Dark Betty will indeed return.

“Season two becomes a boiling-over point for her where she kind of lets go and lets the darkness come out,” Lili shares. “She lets that dark side of her live a little bit, and come to the surface and stay there.”

“It’s not just a moment in a hot tub. It’s something much more intense and much more real than that.”

The Betty Cooper-portrayer also touched on what “Dark Betty” truly meant to her and how it relates to her own mental health.

“It’s more than just a black wig. It’s Betty’s internal darkness coming to light,” Lili says. “Her internal struggles and her anxieties and her demons are coming out, as much as she tries on a daily basis to push them down and ignore them — which is something she does through digging her nails in her hands.”
