DWTS Champ Lindsay Arnold Talks About The Huge Height Difference Between Her & Partner Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

DWTS Champ Lindsay Arnold Talks About The Huge Height Difference Between Her & Partner Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

You’ve probably noticed that there’s a HUGE height difference between reigning Dancing With the Stars champ Lindsay Arnold and her new partner, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

She’s 5’6″, he’s 7’2″ – and that’s the biggest height difference ever featured on the show. Ever. But somehow, they’ve got it handled.

“That’s definitely a challenge,” Lindsay tells TVGuide. “When you dance, there’s a lot of dances where you have to be closer in height to do them, but we are getting creative. We’re making it work.”

The height difference is actually a bonus for Lindsay, because she loves “pushing the boundaries and trying new things, and that’s something that we’re definitely going to do this season. I’m excited for it!”

She also share a bit about their first dance, a cha-cha.

“It’s quick, and it’s fun, and I think it’s going to be a really good style for Kareem and I. We are going to have less weeks this season, so we might not get to all of the dances, so I’m very excited that one of them we got to do was Cha Cha,” Lindsay says.

Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, April 30th @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC.

Lindsay Arnold Would Really Love If Nathan Chen Joined 'Dancing With The Stars' - Here's Why

Lindsay Arnold has her eyes on a lot of athletes for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars – but one of them is sticking out more – Nathan Chen!

The reigning champ (she won with Jordan Fisher last fall!) spoke to ET about her dream list for the all-athlete season and why she think Nathan would be perfect for the show.

“Nathan is someone who really inspired me during the Olympics because of his fight,” she says. “He came back so strong after a rough performance and absolutely killed it out on the ice.”

Obviously, Nathan and Lindsay both being from Utah is a plus, too.

“He is also a fellow Utahn, so that gives us an automatic connection.”

Lindsay Arnold Would Love To Be an All-Star on 'So You Think You Can Dance' If The Opportunity Was There

Lindsay Arnold Would Love To Be an All-Star on 'So You Think You Can Dance' If The Opportunity Was There

In the past few seasons, we saw a ton of familiar faces pop back up on So You Think You Can Dance as All-Stars and choreographers. Now, we’re wondering when, and if, it will be Lindsay Arnold‘s turn.

The 24-year-old dancer was in season 9 of the show (in 2012) and made it to the top 8 dancers, and since then, has been on Dancing With The Stars.

In the past seasons, Jenna Johnson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Emma Slater and Allison Holker have all popped up on the show as All-stars and choreographers. So, could Lindsay get that chance?

“I think since I was on SYTYCD, right after that I was on DWTS. It’s never really lined up in a way that I could do it,” she tells JJJ. “I would obviously love to, but I don’t think it’s ever been able to work out with me being a pro on DWTS.”

However, she would definitely be open to choreograph for the show.

“It was cool to see Val, Sasha and Emma choreograph this [past] season,” she shared. “I really want to do that too. All I would have to do is submit some of my choreography and try out for that.”

Lindsay promises JJJ that she’s definitely going to submit some of hers for the next season.

“That just looks like a lot of fun and it’s a different experience because you’re choreographing on two dancers. I think I could do some pretty fun stuff.”

So You Think You Can Dance was just renewed for season 15.

DWTS Reigning Pro Champ Lindsay Arnold Hopes To Be Back For Spring All-Athlete Season

DWTS Reigning Pro Champ Lindsay Arnold Hopes To Be Back For Spring All-Athlete Season

Lindsay Arnold isn’t taking a break from the ballroom at all.

The 24-year-old reigning pro Dancing With The Stars champ is hoping to return for the upcoming spring season, which will welcome all athletes to the competition.

“I always will be a part of the show as long as they’ll have me,” she told Orlando Sentinel in a recent interview.

But what about the other pros? We probably won’t hear about the pro lineup until at least late March, so we can only hope that Sharna Burgess, Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, Witney Carson, Alan Bersten and more return too.

However, we might have to get used to having a season without the Chmerkovskiys — Val, Maks and Peta Murgatroyd — as their MVP tour has Monday night shows.

Here’s hoping we hear something soon!

Dancing With The Stars‘ All-Athlete Season will kick off on April 30th.
