Lindsey Morgan Makes Directorial Debut On Tonight's New Episode of 'The 100'

Lindsey Morgan is marking her first time as a director tonight!

The 30-year-old actress is making her directorial debut with tonight’s (July 1) new episode of The 100.

In tonight’s episode, “The Queen’s Gambit”, Emori (Luisa d’Oliveira) tries to heal Sanctum’s old familial wounds while Echo (Tasya Teles), Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) and Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) struggle with new ones.

Lindsey opened up about her first time directing.

“Directing felt a lot like sailing a ship, and you have your course and you know the weather and you planned everything and you brought snacks. You really plotted your trajectory,” she told EW. “And then you’re in the sea, and a storm comes, or a shark, or someone gets bitten by a jellyfish! And you just have to constantly adapt to the new situation at hand and adjust your sails to whatever comes.”

“With every episode and every film set, there are challenges or obstacles and for me, it was things I didn’t ever see coming, I didn’t plan for, but I’d have to adjust on the fly and adapt and try to make every new decision an opportunity to make the overall project better. But it was tough because I’m a planner, so I definitely had to work on my spontaneity and resourcefulness,” Lindsey added.

The 100's Richard Harmon Wants Murphy To End Up Alone - Here's Why

The 100's Richard Harmon Wants Murphy To End Up Alone - Here's Why

Richard Harmon and Lindsey Morgan look so amazing while arriving at the opening ceremony of the 2019 Monte Carlo TV Festival on Friday evening (June 14) in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

In a new interview, Richard admitted that he believes his character, Murphy, is destined to be alone.

“Emori has done so much for him, more than any other character has, in making him who he is,” Richard started to explain his reasoning with Syfy Wire. “What I want is not because of what the characters want, but what the characters deserve. I want Murphy to be alone mainly for Luisa D’Oliveira who plays Emori, because I think she got brought on to be in my storyline and you guys have watched her work, she doesn’t need me.”

He continued, “She doesn’t need to be attached to someone’s storyline. She’s such an incredible actor, she’s such a pro. I love working with her, probably more than anyone on the show.”

However, despite his love for working beside her, Richard says that she “deserves her own storyline…I think I’d ship myself alone, so that frees her up to interact with more characters and flesh out her character more, which is what she deserves.”

Lindsey Morgan Shares a Candid Message About Her Mental Health

Lindsey Morgan Shares a Candid Message About Her Mental Health

Lindsey Morgan is getting very real about her mental health.

The 29-year-old actress is opening up about her mental health after years of being afraid to talk about it, she revealed in a lengthy and incredibly candid post on Instagram on Monday (June 3).

“I used to be afraid to talk about my ‘weaknesses,’ my fears, my anxieties, my obstacles, my struggles, my ‘ugly-bad’ days,” she wrote. “I used to think, ‘you have no reason to NOT be happy, you’re so ungrateful, no one wants to hear about YOUR so-called problems.’ So, I never really shared them, I buried them deep and pushed on. I thought that was a form of strength. That was what ‘growing up’ meant. But as I trudged on, the weight grew heavier and heavier until it became unmovable.”

Lindsey went on to describe her own process of realizing that she needed to make a change in how she handled her emotional and mental well-being.

“My old method of ‘carrying on’ through life, suddenly didn’t work anymore and I had to find a new method, a new way of moving this weight,” she continued. “For me, I found through sharing my experiences, talking with loved ones or professionals, that I was not alone, that I deserved to be heard and seen, and I was worthy of a beautiful life. And growing up doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice that. Just by talking, writing, and sharing the parts of me I didn’t think anyone could or would want to accept, I began to unpack, purge, and heal. The load became lighter, I became lighter. By shining the light on my darkness, I was able to find my way again. And I hope my story can help others to feel they can too. That we can all share and shine our lights and illuminate our own and others’ paths. To end the stigma surrounding mental heath and no longer be afraid or ashamed or whatever reason we convince ourselves that it’s not important to share; that we are not important enough to be seen, heard, loved, accepted and included. Because I know now, that’s not true. I encourage you to be true, share and always remember it gets better.”

Lindsey Morgan Teases What's Ahead For Raven in 'The 100' Season 6

Lindsey Morgan Teases What's Ahead For Raven in 'The 100' Season 6

There are only a few weeks left until the premiere of The 100‘s season six and that means a lot more Lindsey Morgan on our television screens.

Speaking to TV Insider, the 29-year-old actress opened up about where we would find Raven in the new season, and how she’s changed since then.

“Season 6 is, in a sense, reminiscent of Season 1 but also has such a cool sci-fi twist to it,” Lindsey shared. “Raven was really reactive in Season 5. Things kept happening around her. She was imprisoned by the camp, imprisoned in a sense by Abby, imprisoned a little on the spaceship for six years because she couldn’t figure out what to do.”

Now, in Season 6, “she’s really made the decision of ‘no more,’ and really hears Monty when he says for us to be better, do better.”

Lindsey continues that his final words, shared through his now grown son, Jordan, are “her mantra.”

“She’s demanding of herself and the people around her. It becomes her battle cry, in a sense. Even when decisions get harder, situations get murkier, and your heart’s pulling you in every other direction. She’s using her moral compass to lead her on her way.”

The 100 will return on April 30th on The CW.
